Question about couple bugs in Thief Gold with TFix. - by piesel

Hello to all people, first of all an enormous thanks to everyone involved in making such great games so easily playable on modern computers.
I played the original Dark Project ages ago and i'm playing Thief Gold now after many years, currently i'm at the Haunted Cathedral level and i think i have a couple bugs:
1) in the Keepers Library i walk on the pressure plate trap that should start the moving wall behind me, i hear the noise of grinding gears but the wall doesn't move, it stands still.
2) from what i read the door to enter the Serpentyle Torc house should be unpickable and can be only opened with the key under the doormat but i can pick it with a triangle-square-triangle lockpick combo, anyone can confirm that?
I'm playing Thief Gold patched with Tfix on Win7.
Hope my question is clear and sorry for my english, thanks for any help.

I could also pick the door :erg:

the door is set to be pickable and smashable in the editor.
the trap works fine when I load your save. any chance you are overriding v-sync or fps limiting settings somehow? Dark is known to hate that.

Ok, for the trap i haven't changed any setting ( i just installed the game and Tfix and i'm playing straight away) so don't know what happened, however nothing major and i'm happy to hear that it works for you.
As for the door it's set to be this way when i install Tfix?
Thanks

no, TFix does not make any change to that door. it might be possible that some oldDark bug was preventing the door from being pickable, and now it's working properly because we are running under NewDark, but I find that unlikely. most probably a false memory.
as for the trap, make sure you are not forcing anything via your gpu control panel. if you are running the default cfgs, it should work fine.

Great, i checked my Nvidia control panel and the vertical sync for the game was OFF, i changed it to ON and now the trap works perfectly, don't know why it was off as i'm sure i haven't changed any setting.
Many thanks for your help, really appreciated :thumb:
