Can i put EP in the "optimized" RES folder that darkloader creates and put a line like:
resname_base .\RES\EP\Thief1+.\RES\EP+.+.\RES
instead of the normal:
resname_base .\EP\Thief1+.\EP+.+.\RES
when doing the manual install?
I ask because i'm doing a zipped thief gold, since i'm sick unto death of reinstalling games, and using darkloader on that zipped folder (that already has EP installed manually) fucks up trying to "optimize" - it moves the EP.crf to the RES folder and modifies the resname_base wrong.
If there isn't any crf at the root, it doesn't do anything.
I - of course - already optimized the dir before installing EP.

One that you zipped, or one you DLd as a Torrent?

Well i did it; there doesn't seem to be any problem for TG.

This might be the cause of quite a few broken installs of EP. Wouldn't it be advisable to change the batch file like this so that darkloader optimization order doesn't matter?

Yes, moving it should be just fine so long as you modify install.cfg / darkinst.cfg.
The next version of the EP won't use an EP.crf at all, however, it will use a folder. Therefore, putting it in res will not be necessary, as DarkLoader will not move it.
