Hello everyone,
I've been playing Thief games for years now, and this summer I'm playing through all three again. My question is: is it worth it to use oRGY's texture packs and the updated models for Thief Gold?
Thief 2's textures are much more detailed, but they aren't nearly as gritty and dark as Thief 1's.
Thief 2's models are head and shoulders better than Thief 1's, so that one may not be as much of a question.
What does everyone think?
OR Should I just use Timeslip's new ddsfix?
And it's great to be back playing this awesome game, I almost forgot how good it was.

I'm using the DDFix and the widescreen patch, and don't feel the need to install the texture pack. It looks amazing.

Just to be clear, DDFix does not modify any game content like textures or models. It only allows you to play the games on modern video cards (and at custom resolutions). I highly recommend NV's enhancement pack, which upgrades many of the low-poly original objects.

That is correct, but it also outputs in 32 bit, and when combined with the widescreen patch, running the game in a very high resolution, makes everything razor-sharp and just beautiful.

With the DDfix you can run the game at 1280x1024 which is my monitor's native resolution, so it looks good. Does the widescreen patch offer any resolutions above 1280x1024 that keep the 5:4 ratio? I don't have a widescreen monitor.
Thanks

As far as I can tell, it will allow you to run it at any resolution your monitor supports.
