Greetings.
I'm very interested into playing some of the exciting fan made missions after having completed "Thief Gold: The Dark Project" and "Thief 2: The Metal Age".
Before I began playing, I would first install "TFix"; proceeded to install the "HD (High Definition)" mod that completely renovates the textures, and finally installed the "Thief Enhancement Pack" for the objects.
I followed the same routine for Thief 2, with "Taffer Patcher" instead of "TFix" and followed through with the others mentioned above.
Now I've installed DarkLoader 4.31b and I'm ready to play downloaded fan missions.
Does anyone have a list of their personal favorites I should attempt? Also, the DarkLoader would of course be able to run these fan missions with all of these additional mods installed?

Sounds like it should work. Try launching the original game with Darkloader.

My picks are the T2 missions Seven Shades of Mercury, Ominous Bequest Gold + Broken Triad, Pirates Ahoy!, King's Story, Thief - The Flying Age, Rose Cottage, Circle of Shadow and Stone (CoSaS) Gathering at the Inn + Mission X, Dracula Reloaded, Lord Alan's Basement + Fortress + Factory, Incubus + Chuffy Train. That should eliminate a few days of your life.
Also check out T2X. I'm not sure if it requires more effort to install, but probably not.

I am having some problems loading fan missions within DarkLoader. So far, I have to manually load the mission into DromEd and run it. I'll try to investigate what could be causing this.
It seems DarkLoader (and GarrettLoader) do not like all of those "TFix", "HD Textures" and "Thief Enhancement" modifications.

I agree with nickie that it's preferable to use FMSel, but I know for a fact that Tfix and The Enhancement Pack work fine with Darkloader.

Do you have any Thief 1 picks? Probably not. It seems a little harsh to keep out the game that began the series in the first place, just sayin'

I've actually been playing a lot of Thief Gold lately, so I could suggest a few there. Actually, I'll make it easy on you - anything by skacky (Endless Rain, Between These Dark Walls, Shadow Politics) or Vlad Midnight (Lord Beileman's Estate, Invitation to Castle Morgoth). Also, Widow's Ire by Stinky Kitty.

Going by the Circle there's at least 3 times as many T2 missions as T1/TG missions, including many of the larger and epic ones I've played and recommend repeatedly. With the newly patched versions the two game engines are basically the same to the point where posters have tried to downgrade to T1 mechanics. Years ago I started out with only a copy of T2, and I didn't play many of the older and smaller T2 missions, preferring the new releases instead. These days with the lower output of T1/T2 FMs I stick to testing a TDM mission once in a while. I also haven't played any "NewDark exclusive" missions. If anyone knows of some new missions that have exploited the increased NewDark limits, I'd love to try them.
Anyway, I looked through the entire listing thread, and I didn't see a single T1/TG FM I've remembered playing. Luckily, you can also give us some of your recommendations.
