Does anyone know if the official stratgey guide for theif 2 is any good because I have yet to find a good walkthrough for it and the one I was using only goes up to mission 5 and the others I dont care for their stlye or they arent detailed enough.

You mean the Prima Guide? That's been talked about on these forums before...
From what I've heard, no. I honestly can't say though, I haven't looked at it personally.

Quick questions.
Why'd you start another very similar thread? Why aren't you just playing the game?
There's a preview to download, but it doesn't show the actual format or whether recommendations are given. I know it was also written before the patch and so some things aren't true, anymore. But it will make sure you are safe and nothing is challenging.

I am not playing because I am having trouble and havent beaten the game yet so need a guide to help me from getting pwned and I have yet to find a guide that can compare to taffers.I dont care for the style of the others because they are confusing because the suffer from these problems.
1.Confusing directions-the will switch on and off using left right, etc to using the compass directions which can make it difficult.
2.Some dont cover the loot as you go or dont cover it at all
3.or it assumes you have beaten the game before and you memorised patrol or location of rooms where with the the other guide I almost never got lost what so ever.
4.Assumes your doing ghosting
5.Isnt detailed enough this is the major folly of the spyglass studios guide.

Maybe stop trying to "beat the game" and try to play.
If and I say if, you need help with one or two things, look up those points on one of the many, many guides on the web.
I can't understand why anyone would play a game with a guide.
It seems to be a waste of time.

The reason you can't "BEAT" the game is because you don't know how to play it and as a result are "BEATING YOURSELF".
You don't lose to this game. You lose to your ineptitude. As has been said above, PLAY THE DAMN GAME. There are dozens of threads, hundreds of posts, as well as the manual and training that TELL YOU HOW TO PLAY.
God gave you one mouth and two ears. There must have been a reason. So listen to the posters, and use your eyes when you read the posts, to actually see and your thought processes to comprehend the advice you see here.
Guides are a poor crutch for a poor player. If you need help with a specific, ask. You'll get plenty of help.
But stop trying to "Score" by "BEATING THE GAME", which can't be done, and learn to PLAY THE GAME.

So the jist is to play the game or the game will play you.Any way you can help I am stuck on the bank mission I dont know the way I should go about it.

The Bank is one of those Missions that seems daunting at first. It is a pretty big Mission. My best advice is to start looking up. There are a few way to get on top of the bank from outside! Once on the roof, you can pick a few ways to infiltrate and study the Mission like a pro. Someone else would have to help you out with a more specific problem you may be having as I do not play Thief II. When it came out, I pretty much ran through it playing as a shooter. It seemed eerily suited to the task at hand, and turned out to be good fun! All in all, Thief II was a pretty fair forgery. Now, Dark Project on the other hand... :ebil:

Leave the computer on for 8 hours, that should help immensely.
