I think it's a joke.
SPOILER ALERT
IIRC, if you leave the map running for 8 hours, the bank vault will automatically open itself.

Why on earth does it do that?!

The reason you can't "BEAT" the game is because you don't know how to play it and as a result are "BEATING YOURSELF".
...
But stop trying to "Score" by "BEATING THE GAME", which can't be done, and learn to PLAY THE GAME.
This is the real problem... learn how to play and you won't need much help, certainly not (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=129473) a walkthrough.

Guides are a poor crutch for a poor player. If you need help with a specific, ask. You'll get plenty of help.

He said a specific question, not a vague one. Give us more details and you'll get help.

Because it's on a time lock, doi. I think this might even be mentioned in one of the readables.

So the jist is to play the game or the game will play you.Any way you can help I am stuck on the bank mission I dont know the way I should go about it.
Your post is the same as me asking "What did I have for lunch". With no details who the hell can answer either question.
Exactly where are you? What room, or area are you in? What is the obstacle/problem you are having.
To simplify: Are you still outside on the grounds? Are you inside? If so where? Is your problem with the guards, the security, the doors/gates, the location of the loot?
Be specific. If the meaning of the word eludes you:

In the keepers chapel walkthrough I am confused about something it says in the part I am up to "You can hide under the camera and jump out to grab the loot while it's turned, or hide behind the counter - make sure to look close for the lucky coins. Go back to the staircase and up to the second floor when you're done". How much loot should I have it this point and what staircase is it refering to and it never told me to get the vase on the small table in the the room, with the staircase right before the room with the watcher before the hall of records.
theBlackman on 16/11/2009 at 05:53
Forget walkthroughs, and as there are many "watcher eyes" where are you, which room and so on are needed. You contiue to ignore the questions.
WHERE IN THE HELL ARE YOU? DESCRIBE THE ROOM OR AREA. IF YOU HAVE A MAP TO LOOK AT TELL US WHICH ROOM.
The principle is simple. If you stand directly beneath an "Eye", it can't see you. As they turn slowly, in most cases, watch the rotation, run and grab what you want, or leave the area, when it is not looking where you will be when you come out from under it.
No one can tell you how much loot you SHOULD have at any particular part. It depends entirely on what you found, if you managed to find the loot that was there.

It's almost as if he thinks Thief is a puzzle game, like Myst.

It's more like he doesn't think. It could be that English is not his/her language, but lack of that should not be a handicap as the questions posted are legible, just not informative enough for anyone to help.
Plus he/she continues to refer to a "walkthrough" when we have continually said forget it and give us some usable information.
At this point, I think I'll just stand by and watch as the struggle continues as an example as supreme ineptitude.

I am not having a problem with watchers eye,I was having a hard time figuring out what stair case it meant and I figured it out.I was just asking a simple question if any knew if the prima guide was good,I need a walkthrough because I like finding everything and I am not very good at stealth games, but I still enjoy them deeply I am only good at the Metal Gear series it was a mircle I could even finish one of the splinter cell games with out a walkthrough. The insults were not called for,I was just asking for help from people I was damn sure new more about what to do than I did.I am sorry if my question wasnt specific enough,I described it as best I possibly could.
