I started playing Ranstall Keep and, for some reason, not everything in the mission is black and white like it should be. It's mostly objects that remain in color. I do have new Dark installed but I don't feel like that would cause an issue. I tried removing all my custom textures out and reinstalling the FM but the objects are still in color. Is there a known solution to this? I want to play this game with the same atmosphere I remember it having.

Do you have the Enhancement Pack enabled? It would replace some objects with new ones that have colour textures which could override those in the FM.

I don't think I do, but just in case I did and forgot about it, would it be something that was included with New Dark?

I had this issue as well and I'm pretty sure it is not related to the Enhancement Pack. With the Thief 2 version of Ranstalll Keep, I removed EP.crf and restarted the mission. The original objects were still in color just as the EP objects were.

The easiest solution is to edit the cam_ext.cfg file and alter this line
d3d_disp_sw_cc_sat 0
Remove the semicolon and set the value to 0.

Yeah, replacing textures and objects is kind of obsolete now. So the method mentioned above is the easiest one. One bad thing about it, though, is that it makes everything B&W, something which the author might have not intended, in case they did the same that Spielberg did in Schindler's List. I don't know if there actually is such a mission, just thought it's worth to mention ;)

There is, my Water Contest mission What Lies Below is mostly black and white, but a few select items like bloodstains are coloured - and there are a few other missions done in a similar style. And I don't think the mission would play the same in all greyscale.

d3d_disp_sw_cc_sat 0 worked. Actually I love the atmosphere it generates when everything is completely colorless. Thanks for the help guys!

No, it isn't. cam_ext settings belong to the individual user, not mission authors.

I assume he meant replacing them for the sole purpose of making them greyscale.
