I think the point that people are getting at is:-
Why bother signing up for a start-up service when there's already popular established services, that do the same thing?
It may do things better than everything else on the market, but why bother if no one uses it?

Well, it´s still beta but has a lot of nice features:
It knows when you install a game, how much you play it, when you play it, how often you play it compared to other games you have and it shows all the info in your profile.
I know for example that a friend of mine just played Xenosaga. That it´s her favorite game on her game list and that she played it for 3 hours since entering raptr.
You can also show your Spore Card, your X-Box Live Gamertag with all your achievements, your identities on Steam, Wii and other accounts, your personal reviews on a game page, all the games that you own and all the games on your wishlist... etc.
It may not be everyones cup of tea, but if you like to show your friends what you´re playing and see what they are playing with lot of statistics then it may interest you.
