Bikerdude, the problem is with what you posted is for those of us NOT in the UK. :P Not even sure those would run here, like dvds. (They might, I don't know). Although, I will pass that link to my friend in the UK whom I am attempting to get hooked on THief. :)
I've also checked out that half.com. . .and found one, and almost bought it before realizing they only take payment from US and ship to US addresses. ARGH. I'll have to see if I can get some cash and get a friend to order it for me.
And yes, i've checked bargain software places, but I don't have a lot of access to those, except on rare occasions, so online is my 'source', for the most part.
Anyway, I'll go show my friend where she can try this. She already borrowed TDS from a friend and has gotten through the training mission for that and thinks its cool. So hopefully going backwards will make the series a real addiction. :)

Actually this is normally the owner of the item with either some friends, or his second account. This is done to see how far the max would go. I would bet money on it, that this "bid-war" was the auctioneer himself.
I believe ebay recently changed their policy, but it seems you could view the sellers past auctions and check if the same buyer pops up again and again.

Wow, somebody got 7 games including TG for $0.99! Of course the $12 shipping is a complete crock, but when the items are practically free I guess you can overlook that.

Aye,eBay can be frustrating. That's why I tend to only go for buy now sales.
But then again I've only bought 1 item from eBay "Legacy of Kain: Defiance"(I was quite lucky since it was an auction) and never bought anything since. I just use it to compare prices and that sort of thing since I don't use credit cards.

Now, try to get not just a Thief Gold, but Thief Gold in original trapezoid box, sealed. That's what I call a true hunt :)
rachel on 18/2/2007 at 14:42
I got that one, though not sealed. Was so happy to find it I clicked the "Buy it now" button right away, 40 USD. ($30 + shipping to Europe)
It's slightly used, but everything is intact and in very good shape. Even vouchers for upcoming LGS games or demos (!). I do realize it was expensive for a used game, but it's a collector item and I don't regret one cent of that purchase. :D
