???????????
Besides: "insane, racist, pro-corporate religious whackos out to get rid of anyone who isn't white and heterosexual" is a great over-the-top description of the GOP itself
Lol, great describe of the GOP but not over top. 100% TRUTH.

As much as it's not the whole story, boy rich jerks do themselves no favours at all sometimes.
I'm reminded of the (yes) This American Life story on the bail out where one of the journos was interviewing some Wall Street banker broker guys (can't remember exactly) in one of those bars who were railing against bailouts and all this stuff. Then she points out to them that they work for a place that was bailed out, with no pay cuts or anything. Their lives have been essentially unaltered by the crisis. They owe their continued employment to the bailout. They all come back on this angrily - imagine the biggest New Yoik accents - " Oh nao dats noat it at oahll! Da raison I haev a joab is Ahm smarter dan evreebahbee else! Dats whoy! Ah soah an opoahtootnity an I took it! Ah have a joab because Amh smart!"
Yes, really.
Me shortly after" "Hello Quantas? Yeah, can I bring a red flag, a Che shirt, a balaclava and an AK47 to New York with me? Nono, I'm only going to use it when I get there....uhuh...I realise that, but have you heard this stuff -plays recording-...Check in only, not carry-on. OK great, thanks."

Speaking of which: (
http://www.reddit.com/r/occupywallstreet/comments/kyjo2/an_open_letter_and_warning_from_a_former_tea/) Open letter from a former Tea Partier.
It's an eye-opener, somewhat, but there's a fundamental flaw in it. Nobody will take it seriously because most of the people this is directed at won't believe the bit about the Tea Party being relatively sane before the brain perverts got involved. As far as they're concerned, the Tea Party has
always been insane, racist, pro-corporate religious whackos out to get rid of anyone who isn't white and heterosexual.
Which just proves the letter-writer's point, actually- that the attempts to discredit the Tea Party movement were successful. And now it's happening to OWS. That manifesto of theirs, riddled with hyperbole and slogans as it is, is NOT helping. It needs some serious cleaning up.
While I agree with the last statement, the thing they have right is that Citizens United was a corporate end run on the justice system. Republicans stacked the supreme court for the purpose of subverting the electoral process by giving corporations the same rights as indiviuals. That's why they fought so hard for certain appointments and against others.
As for that letter? BULLSHIT. Complete bullshit meant to dissuade the OWS from voting Democrat. The tea party has always been the crazy obstructionist far right of the republican party. They managed to get control of the house and still exert their pressure against moderate republicans. Sarah Palin is their darlin for fucks sake. DO NOT fall for that divide and conquer shit. One of them even slipped by showing disdain for the president in that crap link. Did any of you hear his speech today? He says exactly what needs to be done and who is at fault and I agree. I'm surprised repubocorporate hasn't manchurian candidated some rube yet. They might if they didn't believe they could win control of government by getting liberal idiots to believe shit like that link and not vote at all or vote for Ron Paul flat taxer to divide strength. Democrats may not be much but they are still the only hope the poor and middle class have against corporepublicans.
Bullshit. Bullshit. Evil fucking bullshit. Goddam they are some slick demon muthafuckers. Yeah. I don't ever remember any reasonable not far right assholes in the tea party. That's a history rewrite. They sprang conveniently in time to oppose Obama. I haven't seen them oppose a damn thing republican. The tea party anti-corporate? HA! When? Bullshit this "these are not the droids you are looking for" crap. Fall for it and you are a dumbass.
I hope I wasn't too subltle or demure to get my point across.

No, you just sounded like Forever420 with better English.

Too dismissive. You have to tell me what I got wrong. As it stands I don't think it was a damn thing so I don't care what I "sounded" like. I'm getting sick of obfuscation and misdirection. I listen to talk radio every day and I've heard it all. There may have been a few tea baggers that were actually for a Bill Clinton style balanced budget and deficit reduction ala WHAT OBAMA IS PROPOSING but I have personally never seen one or heard one and if I am told to believe heresay just when the OWS movement starts I call bullshit.

I don't particularly care about your message. It's not that I disagree (or agree,) I just don't give a damn.
You need to try not using words like corporepublicans/repubocorporate. That'll get eyes rolling, same as someone who likes to use "commie liberal pinko socialist" as one word. How you formulate your message is as important as the message itself, and when people degenerate into vague condemnations and incoherent buzzwords that are dismissive of whoever they might dislike/disagree with, attempting rational discussion with them becomes an exercise in self-nullification- especially when dealing with a big crowd. And it's not just buzzwords, it's a whole subset of language and dialogue. Look at comments many conservatives inside and out of government make; they all sound the same, because they're all reading from the same rhetorical book. It's the standard stock phrases and the same old narrative that barely changes from era to era. And the left is vulnerable to it as well, although it almost never shows up in political office.
This is why nobody takes tea partiers (and too many mainstream Republicans for that matter) seriously, and it's also part of why OWS is having trouble gaining a wider foothold. Express your grievances clearly, concisely, and professionally. It's very important you ensure you're pointing the right finger at whatever perceived monolithic entity you're angry with. I say again- that draft manifesto needs a lot of work, because rhetoric is only good for preaching to the choir.

I have heard some other buzz about this. To me it seems a bit bizarre(and more than a bit dissonant) that an ostensibly progressive movement is espousing the most wall-street friendly (and right-wing economically) president that the Democratic party has ever had.
In a way, the real damage caused by Obama is that he's more or less assured the success of the Right's pro-wall street agenda by undermining the only viable source of Reform. Since Obama the choice is no longer between corrupt Republicans and pro-regulation Democrats, its now between corrupt Republicans and a Democratic party that touts a populist line while quietly working to thwart any attempts at reform and accountability.
The problem for OWS is how to establish any meaningful change when they have two choices of party to support, and both of those parties display an incredible amount of favoritism to the top 5 banks.

I don't even need to write anything new. You repeat yourself, the standing reply still holds:

"Oh no, the Democrats are almost just as bad." Errr, no. Truly no. You even recognize this, which is why you push out there, and back-
peddlepedal every single time. So just stop being a douche and saying it in the first place. Even lesser-of-two evils is a qualitative difference, so getting all masturbatorily gleeful every time you can point it out does no one any good. We get it. You're jaded and cynical about politics. Nobody gives a shit. Shut the fuck up.
[…]
Fuck, this should be simple, if you had any capacity to pay attention.
So again, you're starting from base misconceptions, and the rest of what you say is accordingly meaningless.
So I repeat, shut the fuck up.
