Real life... association with Thief - by clearing

Only the demo'd stuff, but I was hoping someone would tell me it's now possible. How far off can the vistas appear, now?

AC looks quite good already, however, it's surrounding are usually not fully interactive, so you probably won't have a completely visible environment with so many enterable houses etc. like Thief has. On the other hand, if done cleverly, the skyboxes of (DromEd? and) TDS can be detailed enough to make this distand land believable enough. After all its mostly woods and fields and distant cities.

If you stream data in the same was as it was done in Dungeon Master (this was on the Amiga 500 btw) you never have to have loading (DM had no loading after the initial start up) and you could stream data to increase detail as you get closer. Buildings could be empty shells at distance but full of detail close up.

Yeah. I would be completely satisfied with an illusory effect, as long as looks pretty believable. I have an idea for a game map, not necessarily an FM, but a location on the top of a hill, surrounded by forest, with scrubby brush and a winding staircase up to the front gates. I'd just like it to look like it's in an environment that fades into the distance. It will be at twilight, but I'd like no perception that there's a wall where it all stops, just beyond the edge of the faintest light. I could add light haze to cloak it further, but that means that the graphics cards need to have fog working.:)

Thanks for this, clearing. Through that link I found Trey Ratcliff's official website, and also his (
http://www.flickr.com/people/stuckincustoms/) flickr account! His flickr has tons upon tons of HDR photos. Some pretty neat stuff. I haven't had the time to look through everything, he's got like over 2,000 photos!:o

Finally!
Are there any sneakers from that brand? :cheeky:

I doubt Garrett would wear the white shoes, unless he was out thieving in the snow! ;)
