Mikhaïl Gorbatchev dropping from a chopper and dancing with Zangief, Street Fighter 2.
Best fight ending EVER.

Do they get it as right as Riddick, though? With the Harry Potter games, for instance, the characters look okay enough but don't quite manage to escape the Uncanny Valley effect.

Well, I thought Indy in Emperor's Tomb was very well done, dunno about the other games, though.

He
is? But he wasn't in Hero. Or Kung-Fu Hustle, even. And that's an insta-fucking fail, mate!
Joke not funny. Takeshi Kaneshiro was in the dreadful House of Flying Daggers, which is more-or-less the spiritual sequel to Hero.
Kaneshiro was solid in Wong Kar Wai's wonderful masterpiece, Chungking Express and its equally good sister film, Fallen Angels. If you aren't familiar with WKW, then you insta-fucking-fail at
Asian Cinema, Global Cinema period.

Ahem. You need to loosen your sphincter a little. I'm also a little closer to Asia than you are.
I'm well aware of Wong Kar Wai - as a matter of fact, I've got the DVD of Happy Together queued up right now for a watch. Might not be as good as his other films, but I thought I'd catch up on the rest of his oeuvre.

My apologies then. Be sure to watch the companion documentary, Buenos Aires Zero Degrees, it's utterly superb.
Have you seen Ashes of Time? I had the pleasure of seeing a festival screening of the recent recut, it was a lovely film.

Will do. :) No, I haven't seen Ashes of Time... yet. Kind of juggling between Wai, Kurosawa, and Jean-Luc Goddard at the moment.
I've heard of the new rejiggered version of Ashes of Time, but the copy I noticed at the store was the original. Hrm.

Rockstar must have done a pretty good job with the in-game, polygonal Ricky Gervais, because I detested him as much in-game as I do whenever I see him on TV :D
