Do it. I wanna race on dirt roads real fast like right now.
It doesn't have to be the most realistic racing game ever, but realistic enough so that the game puts up a decent challenge and makes me feel all skiddy and rad as oh hell naw. Also it has to be fast, fun, and maybe furious.
Right now, Dirt's looking the most decent of the few I've checked out. But before I make the plunge and play it exclusively, I want to see if there's anything else out there I'm missing out on that might be better.

Richard Burns Rally /thread.
Dirt may have very pretty graphics, but it's a total arcade fest.

I was going to mention Richard Burns too, but I wasn't sure about it since a lot of people told me they're experience with the game wasn't as pleasant as they expected it to be. Still it's a good choice.

Dirt 2 is already out? I wasn't expecting it for a few months yet.
I'm about to try out Richard Burns and Fuel here. And yeah, I know Fuel has gotten alot of flak here recently, but it looks interesting enough to download a demo and give it a go. At the very least, it'll be an interesting little diversion while I look for something better.

I would suggest Rally Trophy... it's one of the most fun racing games that I've played. There are some excellent mods too that make the game more realistic, if you're into that sort of stuff.
Another game that I really used to like is (Mobil 1) Rally Championship. I'm not sure how well it has aged, I haven't played it for a few years and it's already about 10 years old, but I remember that it looked absolutely gorgeous when it was new and it was great fun to play. Some of those really long 10+ minute stages were awesome too, those were something that I haven't seen in any other racing game.

Seconded. Rally Trophy's a perfect balance between sim and fun.
