Okay, technically, what N'Al said wasn't a personal attack, and it was also true. What you said in response, however, was a personal attack. Nice job.

"Intuitive" isn't a good thing in a control setup in and of itself. It's almost completely opposed to "powerful". A set of bicycle handlebars is more intuitive then a steering wheel and gas pedal, and those are more intuitive then a flight yoke - but good fucking luck flying a plane with those.
You don't need controls to be intuitive. You just need them to not be counter-intuitive. Having a button or key make you attack isn't intuitive, but it's not bad either. If pressing left on the stick makes you go right though...that's counter-intuitive as hell, and that is bad.

So what the hell happened to Twisty? I thought he was gonna play it and give us a write up on what he thought.
I see two things happening here. Either he likes it so much, he'd rather use his free time playing it than talking to us.
...or he got so mad he smashes his newly bought controller into his forehead and accidentally killed himself.

Or he got sad buying it at full price only to have the steam sale come and kick him in the guts.

I'm currently running around in a graveyard getting smashed to pieces by Skeletons that refuse to stay dead. I'm also really enjoying the game so far but haven't really made it that far into it yet to write up much of a review. One of the frustrations that I am currently facing is getting to terms with the controller, particularly as I keep managing to hit the gesture command at the worst times. The battle with the asylum demon for example took me at least five times before I beat him, and on at least two of those occasions I had managed to whittle the demon's health down to one or two HP only to enter the gesture submenu by mistake, which resulted in getting pulverised by his hammer.
Controller issues (or user issues) aside, I'm very impressed by the level of detail and care the developers have put into the game world. And although I haven't seen much evidence of it yet, seeing the past attempts by other players superimposed in the game space gives the game a certain feeling of being alive and connected to other players without it detracting from the experience.
Speaking of the Steam sale however I've been busy emptying my wallet and sampling the games in an ADD manner.

hahahahaha you're trying the graveyard first??
man do you hate yourself? Go back to the bonfire and look for some stairs leading up around the cliffs towards an aqueduct. The game kind of forces you to go that way because trying to deal with the skeletons and beyond now is just suicide.

Don't go in the graveyard, bro. It's not time yet. >:|

How is the controller set up? I think the gesture menu is the select key, which shouldn't be anywhere near the buttons you'll be using most throughout the game.
Though if you're at the part where the skeletons resurrect themselves, then that means you somehow made it past the graveyard, ran down the long steps along the side of the cliff, went into the dark, scary cave, managed to get past the exploding sprites without dying, and went into the catacombs. If you did all that while having controller issues, then you're pretty damn hardcore. I couldn't even get near the catacombs until a good while after I rang the first bell.

Wait - you're meant to defeat him? I tried a couple of times before seeing a note that basically told me to run away so I did. Oops.

It's totally possible to take him down that first go-round. You get a bonus for it I think.
