I just finished playing Fallout 3 and New Vegas back to back. I enjoyed Fallout 3 very much, but by the time I got through New Vegas I was sick of Fallout. Even taking burnout into account, I'm inclined to think that Fallout 3 is a better game than New Vegas. I preferred the urban wastes of the Washington D.C area in Fallout 3 to the desert wastes of New Vegas and enjoyed the enemies (and other inhabitants) more in Fallout 3.
I'll add The Witcher to the list of potential games for the OP. I've played through that one several times will probably be playing Witcher 2 in the near future.

After reading your list, I suggest you start with Stalker: SOC. There's a reason the series has a dedicated subforum here.
FEAR's a great damn shooter, too. The sequel's a bit pants, though, in more ways than one. I guess HL2 isn't something you're going to have a gander at, hmm? Though since you tried TF2, I don't see why not.
Oh, and I'm seconding the Amnesia recs. If you liked Penumbra, you'll probably like Amnesia too.

Fucking amazing? Fuck no. It's decent as a game, but that's it. And the story's irredeemable wtf-ness amidst rehashing old tropes along with the Gainax ending ruined it for me.
And exactly how many scary Alma moments can you take until you're like, 'Oh fuck off, bitch'?

Decent as a game? Fuck no. It's a console version of FEAR. At least FTHREER tried to introduce some new mechanics. FEAR 2 doesn't change anything, it's FEAR, but weaksauce.
