Regarding the technical FAQ...

After having had quite some bad withdrawals from the thief game, I came over here to check up on the community again.. and I haven't played thief gold for over four or five years or so due to my computer being a complete bitch.

So in vain, I still checked the FAQ thread.. and by the gods, I found a patch for the thief gold game, AND IT WORKS!

You might think this silly, but tonight I'm going to replay one of the best games in my life, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS PATCH. I've got tears in my eyes, to any and all people involved in the technical FAQ posted here, from the depths of my heart: Thank you!

*giggles and gets on with the gaming*

It's actually rather dated too, but it's managed to still be useful.:) There's a thread about updating the FAQ, which is in bad need of updating.

I'm not sure to what patch you are referring. Do you mean the texture memory patch, or ddfix (or other)?

I bought Thief I and II when they came out originally and then got Thief Gold when that came out and haven't played them in over 6 years either.

Then for some reason while playing Dawn of War II I looked at Cyrus and thought, 'hmmm, Garrett would kick his ass!!!'

And then I went and dug out my Thief disks again and came back here and followed all the instructions and now its running at 1920 X 1200 on a 24 inch monitor and looking fabulous :)

And the scariest part of all, even 10 years on, I still remember where all the loot in the first mission is :)
