I just had some serious fun playing this awesome mission.
In the course of getting to the high platforms in the treecity I developed a new sport which I call not bungee jumping but ruby jumping: Throw yourself off the highest treetops, see the scenery rush past you, watch the treebeasts look up to you hurtling down in anticipation of their evening meal, then quickly activate the tricksters ruby and vanish right befor their dumbstruck noses :ebil:
Crushed myself a few times in the prcess but I'm getting better (Timing is of the essence :cheeky: )
Oh, btw, I almost forgot to ask: I can't find
the cave of the dead where I have to place the skull
and second
I don't find the book I have to read to know who murdered me.
The book should be
sitting on a table in one of the rooms inside the Keeper Compound. The main building not the hidden Library one. There is a bug that a few people have encountered and that objective won't tick off, even if they've read what they're supposed to, though they usually get the new objective properly.
The cave
can be accessed several ways. One is by water from inside the Keeper building. The easiest way is to walk around the cave walls inside the Keeper caves. There's a spot where the floor doesn't reach the cave wall. You can slide down there into the cave with the zombies.
Just to make it clear: If I encountered that particlular bug
what is the new objective? The one to kill Thomas? Or is there still enother one?
Also
the hermit didn't talk to me at all. I jumped up and down in front of him and he simply ignored me. From reading this thread I brought him a dragonfly. Only then he said that I looked a bit bad and made me a potion without further comment...
Nightwalker on 15/11/2003 at 18:40
Yes, it definitely sounds like you've encountered that bug. The new objective you got is the correct one and the other objective should have ticked off at the same time as you got that one.
The hermit thing went properly as well. There are hints in a couple of places to help you figure out what you need to do to get the potion.

btw.. the 404 error was a nice touch!
(I know, the original message was so far back, you wonder why the late question about it?) I tried so hard to get the first objective to tick off after it didn't work right, I didn't get around to see the 404 myself. Now that I have, the wording evokes memories... are you making reference to the levelord? Too many similarities!
Time to kick ass or chew gum. And I'm all out of gum...

DaffyTaffer,
the other book which gives you the
Kill Thomas
objective and SHOULD check off the first one find out who..." is a scroll in the bedroom, by the bar.
Behind the bed with "pirate banner?" I believe.
DaffyTaffer on 19/11/2003 at 22:46
I picked up the two things that are supposed to take care of that objective a few times, dropped them, jumped on them, etc... I didn't seem to have any luck! I think I only needed to take the potion, though, I got around quite a bit and it seemed like I did most of the other things everyone was describing on the boards. I had a lot of fun playing around in there, the mission is packed full of neat stuff.
I asked about the "levelord" because I wondered if you made that 404 in honor of Duke Nukem. That was his quote (or something close to it) about chewing gum. I guess if you had taken some inspiration from Duke, you would have recognized those things!
Anyway, never hurts to say one more time "GREAT MISSION"!!!

Although it's three months after the last message, I'll say it too. Great mission. Anyone who (for some reason) hasn't played this yet, get to it. This is a mission that literally has everything. Tons of fun.
Now, if only I could...
...catch the Trickster!
