was this 'feature' consciously put in there for that purpose?
Yes. But the easiest way down from any of the real high spots is
teleport with one of the gems.
But that's not as fun.
As far as getting up high. Put one arrow in the side of the platform. Put another arrow in the tree about 3 feet above the bottom of the first vine. Put a third arrow about 3 feet above the bottom of the vine of the second. The rest is cream cheese. :D

First of all, great mission. I'm not too big on non-urban environments, but you did a fine job. Love the custom wood and brick textures.
Second, a question on the loot. I've found all 5 secrets, completed all objectives, seemingly scoured the whole map very closely, been into just about all rope-accessible areas, and yet I'm still 940 short of of the total. Is there some giant cache of booty I'm overlooking or something?

I assume then, that this mission is for Thief Gold?

Thanks for such a great mission. I liked the added customized mechanist fan in the keepers room. -needed to cool my bones-ohh, PuN
The whole mission is totally excellent in design/gameplay. works great on a pentium 4 comp. with a 128 meg graphics card(real smooth indeed)
The hidden secrets and jem collections are top notch.
I love to play non-linear games like this.
The characters like the tree beasts are real alert and hold a creepy pose in a position awaiting to tear a taffer from limb to limb.(and did)
The insects are a really nice touch, unless they touch you!
I have one question:
when i acquired a dragonfly and took it to the hermit he said, "My you look terrible" "what can i do for u today" Then i dropped the dragonfly next to him and nothing happens(no potion) Did i miss something here?
Again an Excellent game, took me hrs to complete most of the objectives and a real fun sneaker/ blackjacker.
The voice acting was really good too -
especially the drunk women in the bar
-hehe
I just can't get enough of cleaning up on those monkey like trickster beasts:grr:
Croms blade FM is another excellent game too by this Author.
The bones and skulls in the interface screen along with garrets arm swinging his sword and blackjacking with his boney arm was a brand new L@@K. Oh yeah, I got a good look at a boney hand! when i was carrying a knocked out victim to his drop off point! like from a falling body in the treetops down to the tree beasts! WHAM! WHAAAA! had a nice sound to it-hehe
On that note, crawling out from a grave Made you feel like vengeance was definitely on its way=)
Thanks for a real nightmare game.

I'm playing on hard and noticed all the treebeasts. I even disturbed one and it chased me halfway round the level until I lost 'im! Any hints/tips on how to avoid (or perhaps kill them quickly, which I hear isn't possible.. I only remember them being in 'Trail of Blood' and boy were they scary) these abominations? If it weren't for the friggin' treebeasts this would be one top-notch FM! Just kidding, it IS a top-notch FM :thumb:. What a gem. Hey Schwaa, you should come down from your mountain hideout and visit me and Xarax sometime (you ever met him btw?) :D
deadman.
Nightwalker on 24/3/2003 at 04:19
Killing treebeasts is easy. Just sneak up behind them and backstab them, like you would a haunt. One whack and they're down. You may have to try more than once until you figure out exactly where to hit them. Your sword goes through them unless you find the right spot.

Alright I started this on Friday but had to quit because I can't use any of my weapons is there a problem or is that normal until I "do" something? Thanks...
Nightwalker on 24/3/2003 at 13:35
No, there's something wrong. You should be able to use all of your equipment right from the beginning. Maybe try downloading a new copy?

Not to insult your intelligence but.....Are you sure you're not just standing in water? Weapons don't work if water gets too deep. Test them on dry land if you have not already.
