:sly: Don't worry I am too stupid to take that as an insult... yeah I was in water... damn stupid head. Thanks SlyFoxx... I am going to go hit my head against a wall now...

Originally posted by Nightwalker Killing treebeasts is easy. Just sneak up behind them and backstab them, like you would a haunt. One whack and they're down. You may have to try more than once until you figure out exactly where to hit them. Your sword goes through them unless you find the right spot. That's all fine and dandy, Nightwalker, but when I tried all I got was the knocking wood sound.. Do I have to do this under certain circumstances, as in when they're 'awake' (assuming they're in an uneasy sleep while standing still), or what? I am certain these guys are treebeasts, they emit all those evil treebeastie sounds and they're scaring the heck out of me! I couldn't imagine having the courage to try to do this while they're roaming around, wreaking havoc upon all the defenseless apebeasts and keepers! :cheeky: .. Hm.. Guess I'm just not up to snuff :tsktsk:
deadman.
p.s. when they're still, can they actually
see me, or will only sound wake them up? I'd imagine the opposite as I was whacking that one treebeast quite a few times, and nothing..

But not all things that look like treebeasts are treebeasts. ;)
Okay, okay...I admit it: I cheated a little. See, a while back I was curious as to how many actual treebeasts were in Trail of Blood (as my basic arithmetic skills suffer somewhat during a full-fledged panic run), so I recolored them slightly. I forgot to take the recolors out -- seeing as how very few FMs use treebeasts -- and...well...I can tell which are which. Am I going to change that? Not on your life!

If they sound like wood when you hit them, that's what they are, just trees. The treebeasts don't have to be "awake" for you do damage them. The trick is figuring out which ones they are BEFORE they start chasing you. :joke:

I guess the fellow next to him is the 'real' one and was making enough noise for two? :laff: I just tried to backstab the one
next to the rock that opens up into the area Garrett thinks is 'the Maw',
but sadly I must've missed, as I heard the sound of clanging metal (guess I hit the sliding 'rock') and my poor skeletal body was soon crushed to a fine mummy powder. Arrgh. *floats up to heaven* Maybe I'll be luckier next time.. ;)
deadman.

Treebeasts have red eyes. The decoys do not.

At least tell me the correct answer, even if it is assumed that the only alternative would be Thief 2.
Sheesh!
Btw. The lag in this mission is unbelievable.
I can hardly play it.

Taffergirl, a few people seem to be running into the framerate problem, though none of us betatesters experienced it. Try installing the mission through Darkloader, then rebooting, shutting down anything that's running in the background that you don't really need and then just running the program through the T2 shortcut. It might help. :)

You can 'throw' the dragonfly at him (right click) and he'll grab it.
