Any of you old taffers remember that thief code or somesuch that used to exist around shady parts of The City? If I recall, it was a collection of questions in survey form relating to playing preferences which one could then generate a concise signature from. Ringing any bells? Was just running through old haunts in my mind and thought I'd have a fresh go at that. And yes, I did the cursory Google and TTLG forum search already :laff:

That looks cool, but it's a little long-winded. We should do something like make a CRC32 out of the resulting code for easy insertion into sigs.

Occasionally, as one peruses the Archives in The Vault, one will come across posts with this Taffer Code as the poster's signature. You will now know what's up with that--for the most part. Someone ought to code up a little app for ciphering and deciphering personal Taffer Codes. Either that, or we still have "0451" (but that id's us as LGS fans, since it's shared with the Shockers and DX'ers), or we tell Sutter: "Hand of shadow, foot of air..."
