I installed New Dark, and now Thief 2 isn't running properly. I uninstalled Thief 2 and the directory is gone. Then when I reinstall Thief 2 for some reason the NewDark files end up in the installed directory as if I never removed them. Any ideas as to what is causing this to happen?
Thanks in advance!

The GOG and Steam releases have NewDark built in. You only need to apply NewDark yourself if you're installing from the original CDs, and in that case you should be using Tafferpatcher to do it.

If something isn't working, it's probably not because of New Dark. What specifically do you mean by "Thief 2 isn't running properly?"

The magically reappearing NewDark files means he's using the GOG/Steam release, which means he's trying to install NewDark over itself, which means he's probably wiping out the cam_ext settings that were specifically tweaked for Thief 2, so lord only knows what's gone wrong. But it doesn't matter, because now he knows not to do that.

Yeppers. I actually pulled my Thief 2 CD to install from, but Windows 7 didn't even read the setup.exe - I have gotten Thief 2 reinstalled and running correctly, however, T2x is no longer working...all it does is try to start, screen turns black and then drops me back to desktop.
Will try a couple things, if any of you guys have any ideas, please share. Thanks!

The problem you had with T2X is that the T2X launcher, t2x.exe, does not work very well with modern operating systems.
