I'm slipping... I have one of the pressure plates with the replace texture on it, and I'm trying to apply the snowcrun texture, found in the vmawwin folder in the crf. Now I can do it if it's a custom texture in one of my own directories, but this is giving me a headache.
Can someone refresh my memory?

Generally speaking, you should never use terrain (family) textures as replaceable textures on objects, you should just make a copy and put it in obj\txt16 and use that.

What Yandros said. Never use the texture in a FAM sub-directory. Make a copy and put it in TXT16.

Why not? It's been done that way for years and I don't recall any problems arising.

Have you been playing Thief 4?

Have you been playing Thief 4?
Played through it twice and then promptly uninstalled the POS.

HERESY!!!
(That remind me that a weird guy who is maybe a Square Enix guy has commented my youtube channel telling me that I'm wasting my time with T2 and must play T4...)
But let's be in the topic.
I didn't know that bugs occure when we use a fam texture for a replace texture... I oftenly use them and never had any bugs... :erg:
You can even use a mesh texture... Really!
Ricebug on 18/4/2015 at 21:29
That's good. So what is the proper syntax, assuming the texture is in the crf?
R Soul on 18/4/2015 at 21:40
fam\vmawwin\snowcrun
But neither Yandros nor LarryG would say "don't do it" without a good reason, so I'm not denying a problem exists, just that I happen to be unaware of it.

Normally, you just have to use the properity, If I remember correctly:
Shape> TxtReplc x (x is a number) : FAM/[YourFamilyFolderName]/[YourTextureName]
Do not forget to change your pressure plate material to make it fit with your texture! ;)

If you set a texture that's already used on a wall or something, the monolog will tell you: Trying to SetData on a Locked Resource!
And if you do that often, DromEd will just crash.
