Morning
I've had a request from Rocketman for copies of the DDfix source code, as he has found someone who maybe able to reprogramme and recompile it to fix a problem with SS2 and I'm hoping the fog in vista.
I have the following versions:
1.3.11 GUI + Manual + Source code
1.2.7 Gui + Manual + source
1.1.1 Manual + source
Timeslip included the src code with some versions, which will be handy.
If possible Id like all other versions from the very earliest to the latest and then get Pavalovscat to save it on the circle. Timeslip never kept any old copies, so I'm hoping some one else did.

on his website?

what good would old versions be?
there's three versions' sources there (descriptions for 1.2.7 gui/manual links seem to be swapped)
i haven't looked into it, but with any luck and organisation old code would be just commented out

I think Biker wants the older versions because for some people they work and the newer ones don't. Whoever is going to study the source might be able to figure out what the deltas are between versions and isolate what caused the breakage, and restore it to a new build.

Thats exactly what I think is going to happen, so come on people - out of the several hundred people that frequent this forum there must be a few who have older versions of the DDfix
I have updated the main post.

But you're looking for the source code, I'm sure an extremely low percentage of people bothered to download that. Most folks just want to get Thief running so they can play.

Bikerdude: There's an utility I used to use before finding DDFix that helped me send game in *windowed mode* (since the other only way I know is via DromEd, and lately it stopped working for me for some reason) - program I managed to translate a while ago -
D3D Windowed v1.88. There's a list of APIs that can be used with older DirectX versions to either enable or disable rendering options. Not sure if it would help for starters, but it's better than nothing I guess..

Is there any other source to get this tool than registering on a new forum?

You can google for "D3DWindower", which is its real name. VirusTotal.com says it contains 1 or 2 viruses (translated english version and original japanese(?) version respectively), though

Windowed mode was removed in the latest version (v1.3.11), but there was talk about bringing it back in v1.4 ((
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1722042#post1722042)). This was over a year ago, though, so I'm not sure v1.4 will ever be released.
Windowed mode still worked in v1.3.9(?) and I was lucky enough to have kept the old dll. I renamed it and patched a copy of DromEd with it. V1.3.9 has no fog for me, though, but for that I can use the DromEd-copy patched with v1.3.11.
On Topic:
I have the dll for 1.3.9, but not the source code, unfortunately.
Edit:
It turned out that the old dll I use for windowed mode came from v1.1.1.
