I want to make a few experiments with Thief2 savegames. Inventory editor to be precise.
And it would be very nice to have a tiny FM which be just one room with a variety of weapons. I've tried to make it by myself, but DromEd isn't a thing which is trivial to master.
Experiments with normal FM are possible but rather inconvenient because of savegames have many blocks regarding objects status, coordinates and such. The understanding of binary format of uncertain structure is hard work which will be much easier with fewer objects.
Can please someone with experience help me with this?
I need just a room and a pile of weapons. Large piles of each weapon. For example a complect of arrows must be not a 1 or 4 (which a hard to seek in binary because of their prevalence) but something like 123457 which may just be a single int32 in the whole file.

Yes, we have already got such a program called DromEd.
It may be tricky in use, but I doubt people need so hard an easy cheater tool.
Just an opinion.

This could be very useful in multiplayer games as some mandatory doors cannot always be opened, so if it was possible to move certain items to a players inventory that would really help. Same goes for weapons, sometimes you need to find a blackjack in the mission, but the second player will never find one. However I don't know how different the multiplayer saves look.

A.Stahl, if you PM me with very specific requirements (room size, which weapons, any furniture etc.) I can have this made for you this weekend.

I can ...
It would be very helpful.
Size of the room doesn't really matter. Just big enough to hold every possible standard weapon and a player.
I never figured out how some authors make non-standard weapons. If they replace standard ones -- don't bother, but if they can be added without removing basic weapons then add, please, a few non-standard things.
And a very important nuance: as I understand the author can edit the number of items in the bundle, so while picking, for example, a water arrow, the player actually picks up whatever amount author wants. So try to set the number of items in bundles as 0xABABABAB (2880154539 in decimal), 0xACACACAC etc. This way it would be much easier to find these values in save-file.
And, obviously, our test Garrett must start level with empty pockets.

Got it, I will message you when I have something ready. May be tomorrow as my day today is pretty busy.

Nah, my life is empty and going to the dead end.

Sorry to hear that! I was talking to Yandros, though. Sorry for the confusion.

:)
I hope this little test FM wouldn't be much of distraction.
