Then under
My Account on the left hand side.
General Settings
In centre of page under Messaging and Notification
Not far below that
Private Messaging
* Private Messaging:
* Private Messaging on
Then Save Changes at bottom of page

Strange, does your privacy settings have "everyone" for all the options? Wondering if there is another setting somewhere that disables PMs....
