MsLedd, other games in the series don't require controller, keyboard is just enough for them
I tried playing Silent Hill 1 with a keyboard, it was a complete exercise in frustration. I broke down and bought a 360 Wireless adapter for Windows just to use my Xbox 360 controller on PC to play emulated PSX games.

I'm a longtime fan of the series (have yet to play RE5 though.) Of the "classic" style games (that is, pre-RE4) I would definitely say REmake is my favourite, though there's a special place in my heart for RE2.
I should probably check out RE4PC, I have the Gamecube version but I haven't played since it came out. I keep meaning to and not doing it. Shame on me. What a great fucking game.

The only version of RE4 I don't have is the PS2 version, but I can safely say that the Wii version is by far and away the best.
Although giving you Wiimote aim only to take it away when sniping was mildly retarded.

I always thought of REmake as the 2nd best classic RE game. Code Veronica was just amazing when it shipped on DreamCast. CVX on PS2 was even better. I used to love me some Capcom. Shame. I just hate them these past couple of years.

I back up this statement 10x. I haven't played RE4PC, but the Wii version was a damn dream to play. It was so good in fact, I'm thinking about rigging up a Wiimote/Bluetooth setup for when RE5 comes out for the PC.

I feel I should clarify... in addition to being about as useful as a fingernail on a goldfish when it comes to a console controller... I cannot (read: no fucking way) use the WASD configuration for movement (it's a handicap, and incurable) and without mouse-look/aim forget it, period. I have missed out on a great many wonderful games because of this, I know.

PS: I hope you installed official patch and hi-res texture mod for RE4 additionally to the mouse aim mod?
Ummm.... I'm not sure. I just may have to revisit that game (mmmm more Leon....)
Linkage perhaps? :D

RE5 In 3D: On Tuesday night, I ran into Capcom marketing man Chris Kramer at a Microsoft event. He had special 3D glasses for me to put on so that I could see a demo of Resident Evil 5 PC running in 3D through Nvidia's Geforce 3D Vision. The tech requires a special monitor and graphics card. As it was programmed for the demo, there were lots of depth effects. That starter RE5 town we all played in demos had more space to it and ... distance. Nothing was programmed to jump out at me yet, though Kramer said that was possible. Maybe a knife might be thrown toward my face some day through the magic of RE5. But the effectiveness (in this case) or lack thereof is so hard to express in text. So I didn't do a post.
My local PC dealer sells a bundle with a specific model Samsung 120Hz monitor and the Nvidia 3D glasses, awfully pricey, $1149.00 NZD.
TBH, I doubt that this "real 3D" technology will catch on in the short term. Maybe with the next generation of consoles and the current trend of 3D movies filter down to Blu-ray.
More and more Hollywood films are being made in 3D as a strategy to get bums on seats, since that particular experience cannot be replicated outside of the cinema environment (at affordable prices at least) as of this point in time.
I haven't made a concious effort to go see any of these modern 3D films. I probably will with James Cameron's Avatar though, since I'm a big fan of his pre-Titanic work and this film might be a return for him.

I hoped it would be released sooner, the picture has just appeared in the end of the upcoming TBC releases line on the official site. I think it means end of the year, not sooner.
