Word has it that the game is optimised for DX10 and thus runs better under that than the DX9 mode.

The benchmark run perfectly in DX9 mode on HD3870 and C2D 2.4

When was it said that DX9 mode didn't work? Also these are based on people's impressions of the actual non-pirated game, not the old benchmark released ages ago.
EDIT: The source seems to be made by an idiot who associated better graphics with performance, never mind.

Who cares about the graphics, benchmarks, and DX10 vs. DX 9? All anyone cares about is that it is a proper port this time. RE4 PC was an abomination.
And lol, 242. You totally missed EvaUnit's point.

Well I do. I'm a PC enthusiast and like to get the most image quality out of games without denting performance as much as possible on the hardware that I have. If you don't value such things then fine, but don't dismiss the conversations that others are having. If you aren't interested then just don't reply, it's a lot better solution than acting like a prick.

If the benchmark run perfectly under DX9, then the game probably would run perfectly too --> If it already runs perfectly under DX9 it actually doesn't matter if it runs better than that under DX10. Better than perfect doesn't make much sense. See?

With official patch (and we usually evaluate PC games with patches applied) it's actually a
very good port of PS2 version if you have a PC controller. It's incredibly stable and smooth, it didn't crash once during my 150-200hrs in the game. And there are excellent unofficial mouse support and hi-res textures patches.

These really shouldn't have been necessary. I mean, who the fuck ports a game to the PC without mouse support? Crashes I can deal with, the PC is a varied beast and trying to accommodate for all builds is a nightmare, but every singe PC on the face of this earth has a mouse ffs.

I'm actually a bit suspicious of Fallout 3's mouse support. There something that doesn't feel quite right about it.
