i know you don't need more than 60fps but on the other hand if you use vsync (which is good for visuals especially on LCDs) and your framerate drops under 60 you only get 30fps by the engine since vsync takes it down. so getting > 60fps at all times is always a good thing.

Have you actually played the game yet?
I've played the very first section of the game. It's Resident Evil 4 in Africa, except now you've got an AI buddy and a shittier inventory system. They've recycled a lot of animations and sound effects from RE4 too.
The very first section mirrors the one in RE4. You run around dealing with a whole mob of enemies and a big guy with a sack on his for head (an executioner type dude with a massive axe, rather than a Leatherface rip off) for a finite number of time before a scripted cutscene makes the mob disappear.
None of these are criticisms BTW, just observations (aside from the one about the inventory system, but I understand why they did it, for more strategic co-operative play). I'm loving this game thus far. The keyboard and mouse controls kick the shit out of RE4 Wii Edition. Mouse aiming is awesome, the inventory slots are hotkey'd to the number keys, 180-degree quick turn has its own hotkey, there's also a quick knife slash hotkey (like RE4 Wii Edition).

This game has really horrible screen tearing, I'd hate to play it without v-sync. You can always use D3DOverrider (bundled with Rivatuner) to force triple-buffering, but I felt no need since I get a constant 60fps.

And it's real time too, you need to be quick now. It's more realistic but you can't just press a button in the heat of the battle and securely choose appropriate weapon/mix herbs and heal yourself or partner.

I'm okay with real time, it's just that I don't like the lack of slots and how a lot of the items don't stack. I've already run into a couple herbs that I couldn't pick up because both of my characters' inventories were full.

Hmm, I think the stacking works just like in RE4, all items do stack except weapons. About lack of slots, after depriving Sheva of all weapons except pistol, I basically use her as my briefcase :)), additional 8 slots are helpful.
yeah, I use it too, the only defect is that the very first video (intro) becomes stereo, at least on monitors that support 120Hz.
