Ok, giving it another try...
See, yeah, the save ribbons are fine WHEN YOU HAVE ALEREADY PLAYED THE GAME. I managed to get to the next save spot/item box/save ribbons with only 2 saves. But that's because I had played this sequence. If you don't know when the next save ribbon place will be, it's impossible to know how much you need to conserve your saves. Bleh.

I am hoping Resident Evil 5 will be more of a survival horror mansion / etc style with less action than Re4. That would be so freakin awsome!!

Fact is that RE4 has much more length and replayability value than any other RE, so I hope RE5 will be similar.
The trailer looks quite promising.

I hope it has a boss fight against 50 cent. Then the RE guy realizes he's not some zombie [African]* and lets him go but f'fty shoots him in the back because he's bad ass mofo and then rides off in his bling bling hummer with babes and... Oh wait thats a horrible idea.
Bah, RE games used to be scary. I just cant be scared when its taking place in bloomland. They need to get him some damn sunglasses. When did that become 'realistic' as far as graphics go anyway? Who sees like that? Must be due to the brain parasite. Makes everything crazy high contrast.
