Quite a few of the animations seem to be reused from RE4, which has me decidedly unimpressed. I mean, if it just looks like a RE4 mod with new maps and zombie skins, there's not much to interest me.

I just watched those 4 gameplay vids on youtube of the demo. I played RE4 through more times than I can count and while many of the actions are the same as they were in RE4. with reloads and the way the knife is used and everything, the animations are all new. Or as least I didn't see any of them reused.

I don't see any of you stellar individuals complaining about Thief 2 looking like a slightly better version of Thief 1.

Gameplay looks much improved over RE4. Hopefully it's will actually scary.

I wouldn't mind even if RE5 was 100% copy of RE4 with different maps and nextgen graphics. Learned every nook and corner in RE4 too good during my 5 or 6 thorough playthroughs on Normal and Pro (PC version with improvements) to replay it again anytime soon.
I liked "classic" REs too (played 1-3 after I was hooked on RE4). They are great, but too short and have no replayability value for me, they're mostly adventures and adventures generally aren't that good for replaying.

The RE5 demo was disappointing. It was boring, there was too much ammo around, the setting is a cheap ripoff from Black Hawk Down, and the worst, it wasn't scary at all. I rather play RE1 remake on the GC before wasting time with the new one.

Except RE's never ever been scary ever. Creepy at times, yes (especially REmake) but never scary.
