New trailer. It'd be curious to see how much of the completed campaign they lop off to sell as DLC.

So it turns out that when I bought Dragons Dogma I also got early access to the RE6 demo, though I didn't get around to trying it out until tonight. You get the choice of 3 different stories, following Leon, Chris or Jake. Since the only other RE game I've played is RE4 I picked Leon. Leon has partnered up with someone called Helena who seems a bit shady, Leon doesn't quite trust her. You can also play as Helena, and I guess in coop the second player will play as her. Not sure if Chris, Jake and Leon's stories are completely separate or if they intertwine somehow.
The gameplay was pretty much like RE4 except you can move and shoot at the same time, and Leon has a pretty badass kick for when he runs out of bullets, and I think at one point I even did some kind of judo-throw on one of the zombies, though I'm not sure how I pulled that off. The FOV is extremely tight , makes it hard to be aware of your surroundings. Of course it's like that by design though, to make the game feel more claustrophobic. Not sure what to think of the story from a 20 minute demo, but the atmosphere was pretty good.
I'll play the Chris and Jake levels tomorrow and report back with further impressions.

Played the Chris and Jake missions tonight and died during both. Chris is a spec ops soldier and Jake is some kinda trenchcoated badass who fights half-robotic monstrosities in derelict buildings. Both of their levels were more action-oriented than Leon's, with the primary foes in both levels not being zombies but posessed gangbangers, who shoot at you, with guns. And sometimes turn into horrific monsters after you've gunned them down. The controls for all the characters seem to be the same: there's a cover-system, you can do an actionroll which lands you on your back so you can keep on shooting baddies from a lying position, and you can also give orders to your teammate. Plus you can string together melee attacks into combos. One-button combos that is, nothing too complex.
Overall, I gotta say that it's not very scary, and the action gameplay isn't as tight as in most actiongames. Still, neither of those faults kept me from enjoying RE4. And just like that one, RE6 does seem to hold an odd appeal. I'll defenitely be getting this game at some point. PC version preferably as the coop mode is very appealing.

Man, this game is getting a royal beatdown in huge way in reviews. Be interested to hear what someone here thinks after playing it firsthand.

I'm inclined to believe an AAA title like this getting reviews like that to be indicative of a truly poor game.

I tried playing
Resident Evil 6 last night before I was due for work. Before you can see ANY menus you have to sit through an (
http://steamcommunity.com/app/221040/discussions/0/828934724059907306/) unskippable 20 min tutorial that you can't quit, save and resume later. I had no idea about this at the time and kept trying to get to the out-of-game options menu so that I could increase the FoV, which is unavailable in-game according to (
http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Resident_Evil_6) PCGW. ALL of the wretched (that I saw the first time around) cutscenes are unskippable, ditto for all of the awful QTEs. FFS even Metal Gear Solid games lets you skip/fast-forward their over-indulgent cutscenes/codec conversations.
WTF was Capcom thinking with that dreadfully implemented tutorial?! I wanted to approach this game with an open mind, but so far it's not doing itself any favours.
