Nos da, Taffer!
Wyt ti'n siarad Cymraeg?
O ble wyt ti'n mynd?
I hope I got that right :)
Work and all my hobbies, and the fact that I spent a whole year in Italy didn't help my knowledge of Yr Iaith Hen (also its grammar damn hard imo).
Did you finish the mission?
I suppose there might be some quirks with the objectives.
IIRC (can't check right now) the objective should be accomplished when you read the papyrus in Miss Monroe's room. The one sent by a mysterious "S". It's in the chest.
In that room you also get the phone call by Phalvac (the phone should be ringing annoyingly loud until you pick it up). He gives you the objective to go to the park.
Anyway, I am not 100% certain about this right now. I will load it up again later and check - but unless I'm really mistaken this should be the answer to your question.
As for the continuation of the series (and final version of this first level):
I have many ideas which I'd know how to do in DromEd. Also, the spells are all working already etc. I still haven't got much time to DromEd though.
On the other hand, I played a few levels of UT2003 the other day, and that engine is amazing! I can already see why they chose to use it for Thief3 and DX2. Also it's supposed to be very flexible. Maybe I will just use my editing time on practising UnrealEd so I can finally do this series when I get Thief3...
We will see. I will let you folks know :)

I think I know what the problem is. There's a locked room on the upstairs floor that I guess is Monroe's room and which I haven't been able to enter. I found a house key but it doesn't work on that door. Advice on how to get inside?
Thanks!

Yes that's the room.
You can reach it by a secret ladder from the basement. In the basement, at the entrance to the bootlegging laboratory (under that marble altar-like thingie, the switch for that one is behind some crates) there is a door that leads to the ladder.
The door is locked but it will be opened after you meet Cosh for the first time.
Hope that helps :)

Yes, that was it, thank you. However time to add another bug to the list:
The door to the ladder room remained closed and locked even though I had already seen Cosh and emptied the safe of valuables. I went down to the safe room again and this time the door opened and I was able to finish. I had gone to the park on my own without the phone call just because I was exploring more of the city and that's how I ended up completing the objectives out of order.
Cheers!

How did you get in the park before the call?
This is a bug, it shouldn't be possible.

This is a bug, it shouldn't be possible. Yep, that was the case, odd as it sounds. The sequence of action I played was
1. Explored the city a bit (noticed that the park was locked)
2. Entered and explored the Monroe mansion except for the upstairs.
3. Entered the basement, moved the pedestal, saw Cosh, emptied the safe of valuables, went back upstairs.
4. Explored the mansion's ground floor some more but didn't find anything of note.
5. Explored the city some more and found the park gate open.
6. Got the spells from the park and returned to the mansion.
7. Waited until Cosh had taken care of the other folks than subdued him and took the crown.
8. On your advice, went back down to the basement but the door to the ladder was still locked. The rest you already know.
I can send you a saved game that is positioned after taking care of Cosh but before the ladder door is open if you like.
Cheers

That is very odd.
Gotta have to check this one.
I have little time for that at the moment though.
Oh well. I really have to make up my mind whether to continue the series with T2 or wait for T3...

I am very confused. I was in the Monroe's house and saw the guy with the crowne.
And there is one locked door in that house and one in "my" house. How can I open them?
And what do I have to do now?
Norman Druart on 13/10/2002 at 18:17
There are two doors in Monroe's house that you can't unlock unless you perform certain actions. If you've seen the guy with the crown, then you've been to the sub-basement. Go back up to the room with the pedestal that blocked the ladder, a locked door should now be open.
As for the door in your office building, I believe that it’s linked to the mission’s easter egg which is rather tricky to trigger; I’ve never been able to do it myself.

I have been playing Resurgence on Master skill for some time now (I didn't see the advice above to play on Normal), and I am stuck. I've seen Cosh once in the basement cigarette lab. I saw the killed lady, got the phone call, and went to the park. Grabbed one spell, the darkening one. Got another objective to get to the subway. I went to the subway and nothing happens there other than an objective checking off. I cannot find Cosh to take the crown. I've been everywhere in the city, I think, after the park event. The guards are a little pesky but easy to outrun. I heard a monster noise while standing under a bridge once, but I can't seem to find him.
Also, I have no weapons. One gun shot only already used on the guard in front of the mansion, and I can find no more weapons. No blackjack. Only the gold square lock pick - the silver triangle one is missing. The single pick doesn't open anything.
I went down to the the hidden area under the bar and found a strange stone post surrounded by mushrooms. Nothing seems to be there other than an apparently secret door (different color) that I can't open.
