After many years without the Thief series a friend of mine suprised me that the fanmission scene is still up and running. Well a little bit goofing around on various sites showed me some fine things for those cold winterdays.
I never really played Thief1. I played the first mission, then stoped mid into the mines in lvl2.
A few years later I played T2 full. Every mission and tryed to hunt down even the last secret. (I guess I can run "Party Time" blind now...)
T3 was played but it was a bit of tragic. Some nice scenes, dialogs and whatnot but hey, loadscreens? Oh please... I do not spend 2000€ on a PC to play a stupid console game. Stoped playing somewehre on a ghostship...
But yeah after all those years Thief 1 should get a second try. And fanmissions too this time.
So there are 2 questions:
First: is it possible to run Thief1 Gold and Fanmissions on a modern PC?
Vista 64bit, Nvidia card ,Quadcore yes this could be a problem. I mean plaing as in: Without serious bugs.
Second: Actually I own the german Thief1 release version. Whats the difference from T1 to T1G, and more important if I choose to buy T1G
should I choose the english version?
Because I recall some serious problems with running fanmade addons/patchs/textures on foreign gameversions with other games.
I'm pretty fluent in understanding english, but you see not that good at writing, so english voice and text is not an issue.

Just to be brief, I'm in Windows 7 x64 and Thief and Thief 2 run just fine. Was the same on Vista Ultimate x64.
Just make sure that if you need to apply DDFixGui.exe to your executables that you do so in Windows XP or a WinXP Virtual Machine.
