I'm almost done this one and I just wanted to post and say "Thank you", Morrgan! It's a terrific FM and it's nice to play a TG mission again. I've always loved the atmosphere of that game the best.
I especially liked
being able to sneak around in the rafters and attic. That's always a blast. Crouching up there then silently dropping to the carpet behind an unsuspecting guard to BJ him is great fun! :cheeky:
:thumb:

I love when awsome FMs seemingly come out of nowhere :thumb:
An instant Thief 1 classic, I only wish it went on for longer! A great murder mystery- I just beat it a couple days ago and I already feel like playing it again (maybe I'll try to ghost the whole thing on my next play through...). Great job! Wow, Curse of the Night Falcon and now this just a couple days later. To all FM authors- keep the great FMs coming!

Morrgan, a question... some of the hammers (2 or 3) were actually haunt skins (although they were in all other respects normal humans). Was that intentional on your part, or is this some strange quirk of my TG installation?
Eshaktaar on 20/1/2004 at 23:41
Hmm... now that you mention it: I remember the Hammerite in the library looked suspiciously like Brother Murus :o
But I didn't encounter any haunt "skinned" Hammerites, so I guess it's something with your Thief installation.

Where are the notes from the mistress?:p
Auriga2us on 21/1/2004 at 03:22
I am playing on expert and I have completed the objective of reading and then destroying the letters from the mistress, I have read in the previous posts that once that is done
an additional guard will appear with the Engineering key
this has not happened and I don't now what I need to do to be able to continue the game.

It is not finding or destroying the mistress letter. It is finding another letter. Morrgan explained what it was in a spoiler above.
It is a letter to Merlon. Look very carefully in the priest's quarters.
Yandros: Sounds like something went wrong with your TG installation. There are three Hammers that use the Haunt mesh, but they were supplied with a new guard skin from the original game (that was never used, but fitted the Haunt mesh). They are Brother Nattacus' escort.
Somewhere along the line, that skin obviously didn't get extracted properly. Check the mesh/txt and mesh/txt16 folders for a 'spook3.gif' file after Returning a Favor has been installed - the skin will look like a very red Hammerite.

Thanks, Vigil... I'll check it out when I get home. I looked through those folders already and noticed the one in \txt.... but I think there was another one in \txt16 which was a haunt skin, but with the same filename, so it may have taken precedence over the one in the mission ZIP. Not sure where it came from, probably Daemonite's TG skins upgrade. I'll post again tonight when I'm at the computer I played it on, and provide more details... shouldn't be hard to figure out what the problem is.
