Doesn't this pretty much indicate that Garrett is heavily back in action and the girl at the end of T: DS is not the lead or sommat. Not that I suspected anyways, it would be foolish not to use such a strong, loved character to it's full extent.

No Stephen, no Garrett, no Benny, no Hammerite Priest, and many others.

Stephen did some work for Fallout 3, so we know he's still around. If they do go down the road with Garrett as a character, I think we can expect him back. I hope.

Yeah, he still does voice work, but now he's showing up in small roles in movies, so this may make it more difficult to get him in the voice-booth.

Didn't Stephen voice the nervous civilian too? Stephen is very important to the series and I can't imagine EM won't contact him. So, in the end, I think it's all up to Stephen if he wants the job. ;)
Other voices I'd like to see return is the smart guard, and the tough female guard.

Found this post the other day where Mike C from LGS spoke of Stephen when he came in to do the voices. Love the "sneaked in" to do his voice overs part - as it sounds like he is very much Garrett in real life. ;)

Steve Russell kicks ass, I got all excited the day that he came into the studio to record for Thief GOLD. I remember the time we all heard Raoul for the first time, we all fell on the floor laughing because it was so damned perfect. To this day, me and my brother run around the house singing, "My Lady Valarius is so so sad....."
When it came time to write conversations for Thief 2, I knew that I had to write something perfect for Steve. I was a huge fan of his dumb guard voice and after a stressful day, I sat down and listened to all of his voices in the game and wrote the Benny conversation that all you guys love. My only comment to Steve was to act drunk, I knew he would do it perfectly. The first time I heard the conversation, I had tears rolling down my cheeks from laughing so hard. I played it over and over and made everyone in the Thief Pit watch it, we all laughed pretty hard that day.
Anytime we got new SR speech recorded, we all got excited and popped it into our levels ASAP. The first time I really enjoyed playing my levels was when I had put in the Benny conversation and the Garrett voice overs. Thief wouldn't be what it was if it wasn't for Steve's incredible voice talent. He would sneak into the studio, do all the recording for three hours and then sneak out again. Not many of us got to meet him because he was to stealthy.
When I saw him standing behind the Mic, he was dressed all in black and looked just like one would expect Garrett to look. Steve thought it was funny that I wanted him to autograph all of my Thief GOLD copies, but he is a huge talent, and I felt like I got the signiture of a superstar that day. If there is ever a Thief movie, there is no doubt in my mind who should play Garrett. Steve made Garrett who he is and we all wrote Garrett's words with Steve's voice in our heads.

It's actually from a thread where some of us got Stephen to respond to us after the LGS demise & to thank him for his work. :thumb:

Fantastic! Thanks for sharing. I was disappointed that Grundbegriff's Stephen Russell .wav was no longer active. I knew that S. Russell had done more than just Garrett's voice, but wasn't aware just how many voices he actually did. I'd love to hear is take on the upcoming T4.

I think returning to voice actors for the different languages and countries would be at least as important as getting Russell back.
