Uh, no, RBJ doesn't need this tedious shit. He's told CCCToad to shut the fuck up and/or piss off repeatedly in the hope that he can get a break from it.
The fact is there's nobody else here well-versed enough in economics to be able to identify Toad's posts on the subject as miseducation. Toad might actually be convincing people who don't know any better were it not for RBJ. Most likely he's never actually going to get Toad to improve his knowledge, but hopefully through this effort Toad will realize one day that he has zero credibility here and finally give up and go away.

I disagree with a great deal of the things that CCCToad says, but aren't you all over-reacting a bit? The message I'm getting from this, as an objective third party (or "outsider," if you will), is that it isn't okay to hold an opinion which the T.t.L.G. core group believes is wrong. I've been observing T.t.L.G. for a very long time, nearly since the beginning, and in my opinion, this sort of unanimous railroading of dissenters is why T.t.L.G. is having a population problem now. Sure, I know, not everyone who disagrees with one of the more popular members is viciously attacked, and there are some people who hold a bunch of weird views who are nonethless liked. But for the most part, I've noticed that (more than any other forum I've watched or participated in) there's a "core group" who all seem to believe more or less similarly about certain important issues, and they do not accept anyone who consistently disagrees with them.

This isn't like railroading someone regarding their sense of humour or the fact that they don't like Blade Runner, this is about significant issues facing the global stage where misinformation and willful distortion of the facts cause more confusion than anything else?

Perhaps we mean tolerate in a different fashion - also, I have to say that using the RBJ/CCCToad example here is disingenuous of TTLG as a whole because there is a fair amount of history between them that colours those exchanges - but when I say do not tolerate I mean we should not indulge their totally broken logic or entertain their falsehoods and conjecture by forcing them to back their commentary up with robust explanations and credible sources.
Ignorance and trollish behaviour is often incredibly apparent in any debate of any academic substance. Politics and religion is perhaps a different story.
