I spent the whole thing thinking 'holy shit, did Michael Bay cut this together?' and then the shot of the kid with the Japanese planes flying overhead from Pearl Harbor popped up. It was either Michael Bay or his non-union Mexican equivalent.
Somebody needs to edit in the split second seizure montage right before the asteroid blows up in Armageddon, and superimpose Perry's face over Bruce Willis's to make this thing perfect.

ahahaha just saw that quote and instantly paused the video to post it, should have guessed an upstanding film critic would already have appreciated the delivery

Seriously, that trailer is amazing. The fact that the first half is factually bullshit (zero jobs my ass) and the second half is full of mean-nothing nationalistic platitudes doesn't at all change the fact that you could sell tickets to this thing.
Did I say trailer? I mean ad. That wasn't even intentional. See what I mean?
And yeah, the Pearl Harbor bit is a stroke of genius.

SubJeff on 22/9/2011 at 22:04
lols Ostriig, that really did make me chuckle.
Seriously though, that was awesomely ridiculous. Why can't we have ads like that?
Aerothorn on 23/9/2011 at 04:45
Because you guys have PUBLICLY FUNDED ELECTIONS and CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM and other pesky things like that.
Painman on 23/9/2011 at 07:13
Rick Perry? Oh, yeah, his "jobs" plan is just the ticket as a model for the country. Lower taxes, less regulation, fewer worker's rights. Funny, though, how my own state of MA has a (
http://www.bls.gov/web/laus/laumstrk.htm) lower unemployment rate than even the much-vaunted state of Texas, despite being such a librul hellhole.
MA is a highly educated state. Our state's industries are diverse, and many of them require you to not be a dumbfuck. That's why we're still doing comparatively well, despite being a place where gov't is percieved as heavy-handed. When you need brains, you go where the brains are.
Perry's created a lot of jobs in Texas, yes, but lots of them are (
http://articles.cnn.com/2011-08-15/opinion/frum.perry.economy_1_job-creation-minimum-wage-texas-economy?_s=PM:OPINION) minimum wage.
Rick Perry as TX-Gov gets castigated for being soft on illegal immigration. No wonder - he wants Mexicans to come and do the shit-shovel work he's offering in his state for possibly even
less than federal minimum wage.
Perry's vision for America: Out-sweatshop China?
CCCToad on 25/9/2011 at 09:26
Sounds about right, Painman.
Anyway there's good news for Perry haters (ie, everyone in this forum). Perry got (
owned) clowned in the Florida straw poll.
