Bartlet: You think states should do the governing wall-to-wall. That's a perfectly valid opinion. But your state of Florida got $12.6 billion in federal money last year - from Nebraskans, and Virginians, and New Yorkers, and Alaskans, with their Eskimo poetry. 12.6 out of a state budget of $50 billion. Now, I'm supposed to be using this time for a question, so here it is: Can we have it back, please?

My favorite recent bit is how in Texas the poorest fifth pay about 12% of their income in taxes, and the richest 1 percent pay only 3%. Exactly what the USA should aspire towards!
edit: Perry and Bachmann are so bad (and Romney's reaching so hard for them) it's hard to tell if Jon Hunstman is actually reasonable or if he just seems like it in comparison.
I mean, Sarah Palin's three year old with Downs probably seems reasonable in comparison to the majority of the Republican field.

A flat tax is a fair tax!

There are some other statistics about Perry's time in power that are interesting. Ones that SHOULD make the right refuse to touch him. For example, Perry oversaw a massive increase in spending by Texas's government and a doubling of Texas's debt.
Perry's Right wing loony rhetoric isn't an accident, though. He's hoping that more attention will be given to the way he's acting now than to inconvenient information (for a Republican candidate) like the fact he worked for Al Gore's campaign. Its a pretty common tactic in American politics: scream loudly about your
opinion on issues like abortion or gay rights so that nobody pays attention to your
actions on other, more important issues which have a much more significant ramifications for Americans.

Thank you Rug Burn Junky for pointy out the fallacy in the thinking of Ron Paul Fanatics.I take your not an Ayn Rand Fan then.Which for me is a good thing.
I wonder if Canada would take some on the Autism Spectrum, namely Aspergers since depending on the field it can be a job asset.
I also like how Paul Fanatics can't see how his economic ideas won't work nor how that might lead to someone rights being curtailed.I hope your joking about the fairness of a flat tax.
