(
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUnYI7OMpaM&feature=youtu.be) In a related story, Missouri republicans are planning to cut benefits to low income elderly and disabled citizens, so they can give the money to corporations by cutting their taxes.
What I find most mind boggling about US republicans is that they openly and publicly screw the poor and the needy in order to help big corporations (or finance overseas military escapades), and yet people still vote for them.

And not just anybody - but the very poor people they're most screwing over tend to vote for them. ...They're afraid of gays, atheists, and foreigners.

It is not all they think is worth the lols.
If Perry had the wishes of his made true and unlimited power us gay people would most likely end up being forced to take classes "cure" our sickness of not put in "healing" camps.
Fuck Perry, Fuck the bitch Bachmann and fuck all their neo-nazi sheeple ilk.

We should stop giving subsides to corporations or agriculture since those aren't doing the deficit or pretty much anyone any favors.Raise Taxes on high income earners, bring back and raise capital gains, dividend, and estate taxes and institute a robin hood tax on financial transactions.Put the financial industry on a tight leash to discourage the unethical practices that got us into this mess.
From what I understand of economics, this is exactly the wrong thing to do if you want to encourage private spending, hiring, and innovation to improve the economy. Raising taxes on high income earners discourages investment and estate taxes, unless I'm mistaken, can cheat people out of their inheritance, which, at least in my opinion, is highly unethical.

We also need to fix the educational system and make college more affordable in order to have a better educated populous along with rebuilding our manufacturing base.
If only we could. It's far easier said than done, and part of the fault lies with the attitudes of the students, or rather, the students' parents.

Only when things are good should even consider cutting spending to fix the deficit.
Cutting spending is about the only thing that we CAN do. And there is far more to do than juts fixing the deficit. We need to fix the debt.

Frankly if your super rich how is a little less pocket change gonna hurt you their whining is almost infantile.
Uh, because, at least for some, their money is hard-earned from good education and smart business practices while many impoverished remain destitute because of their unwillingness to make the effort to rise above through hard work.

Its one thing to complain about hunger or losing ones home its another to complain about paying taxes when you have it all.
Are there many hungry people? There are tons of volunteer groups to provide food for those who can't pay for it themselves, plus government food stamps and welfare. As for homes, it's certainly sad for those who lost their jobs and now are unable to pay, but there are probably quite a few who can't pay because they never could. They took advantage of the low income requirements for entering into a housing contract and now they are paying the price for not being smart with their spending. I have far less pity for that.

I just wanna see an America were you can work hard and get ahead while at the same time not having being a CEO or owning your own business for isn't that kind of labor still valued anymore.
You can still work hard and get ahead. You just need to be willing to work hard first. That means taking less-than-ideal jobs at times and making an effort to get as much education as you can. It's not easy, but if a Chinese immigrant who can't speak English can move to America and prosper, there is no reason why a native-born American can't.

In my own town I can see the decay our society has taken and knowing what it was and how much better it could be while avoid the debt issues of Europe. Not all people are looking to live in a mc mansion some just want to live comfortably where its not just work all the time and pay bills and nothing in between for that is no way to live.
Agreed, that would be the ideal. But sometimes someone may have to work all the time just to pay the bills until something better comes along.

Then quite obviously you understand very little of economics. If what you say is true what explains the robust economy under Eisenhower when taxes on high earners was 90%? The answer is, when taxes are higher Companies will reinvest in the company and expand to take advantage of the tax breaks and that means more hiring. When taxes are extremely low..like now they tend to hang on to the money, because there is no advantage to expanding and investing because taxes are so low.

Mind citing your source on that statistic?
Eisenhower was for low defense spending and low regulation, so there is one reason why the economy was strong. Yes, tax rates were high, but was the strong economy because of the tax rates being high or because of Eisenhower's low-government-spending policies? Because our government is high-spending, needless to say, so the circumstances may not be ripe for economic growth with anything short of severe spending cuts.
And was the taxes on high EARNERS that high, or just on the wealthy? There is a difference. If you tax earners too much, they will stop putting in the extra effort because all of their money is just going to be taken away. This means less business and economic growth and, as a result, the economy will become weaker.

That's just ridiculous. You're saying that, now that the government isn't taking all their money, they are LESS inclined to grow under the light tax load and expand, while, if the government was taxing the high earners heavily, they would suddenly be more motivated to expand more, knowing that the government would take much of it away and they would be left with a pittance profit for the effort put in? That simply makes no sense.
If I had a job where I made fifteen dollars per lawn I mowed, but then a bully would come, punch me in the face, and take half of what I made, I would be far less inclined to mow extra lawns than I would if there was no bully harassment at all.

Perhaps, but feel free to cite some sources to back up your stance that taxation of the higher earners is the key to fixing the financial crisis. Since you're making a claim, the burden of proof is on you and, so far, you have not offered any proof.

...where did I say it was "the key to fixing the financial crisis"?
