Thanks for the help & mega shame on me for not checking the FAQ's... :tsktsk:
But I don't think I want to throw another 40 megs of data (or junk) on my hard drive just to get this 1 FM to play. I also first nuked any old saves I had to see if that did the trick.

You think simply forgetting to check the FAQ's bad? You probably haven't had a problem, and spent hours trying to solve it before doing a search, and finding a post that you wrote which explained how to fix it. :o

As a huge fan of "Evil Dead II", I gotta say, this mission freaking rocks! PERFECT recreation of the movie
(even down to the crazy monkey sounds the witch in the basement makes)!
Even when I was down to a painful 5 fps I had a constant smile on my face :thumb: . With all of the framerate killing problems ironed out, this would easily be one of my top 10 favorite FMs! Awesome job, and hopefully we'll see a version with all of the bugs ironed out sometime in the future...
By the way-
the framerate started out pretty good for me, it didn't get bad until Ash showed up. After I went into the basement it got nearly unplayable...then back up to just bad, and finally good again (for the ending). Really wierd, wish I could help pinpoint the problem, but the framerate was just REALLY sporatic for me...
After reading the posts above about how to exit the house, I finished the mission. No problem with loot or frame rates after the bug-fix scripts were installed. It is kind of strange that frobbing loot should depend on the functioning of a script, but I guess "Ours is not to reason why...."
In view of the problems that the old scripts cause, and considering that I never had any problems with the old scripts until I ran this particular mission, I suggest that you explicitly state the required script file name (UsrScriptT2_1x2BugFix.zip) and place a correct link to it in your readme. You might even edit the first post of this thread so it will be more obvious to new players.
That was a very interesting ending. :) It caught me totally by surprise. I must have missed something about the connection between the ending and the mission itself. Was it mentioned? You said that it came from a movie. Just for curiosity, could you provide us with some background as to what that movie is, and how this mission relates to it?
Thanks for a fun mission!:) Very clever.
Edit: I see the name of the movie from the above post, which passed me in the mail. If you care to provide some motivation and connection to the ending, for those of us who have not seen it, that would be great.:)

Here's an explanation of the ending:
In the movie, an ancient prophecy mentions a hero who will save humanity from the clutches of the demonic forces of evil. This has already happened, in the ancient past.
In the end of the movie the protagonist (Ash) is thrown back in time through a portal and is faced with a flying monstrosity. He blows the living crap out of it. After witnessing this, the people of the past hail him as their champion, the hero who was prophesied.
Ash isn't all too happy about this once he realizes what's happened.

The Fan mission has the same ending, except the roles have been slightly changed and there's less shooting monsters with shotguns.
I finaly got the book to trigger events..I did a clean install and added the scripts and the other thing you e mailed me. I think after T2X my game wasnt the same. There was weird things like my Blackjack was still called a knockout hammer and such. Now off to have some fun.
short but very cool. Thanks

I reloaded the T2 OM using Darkloader; my blackjack is called a blackjack, not a knockout hammer. But when I returned to RUTITM and restarted, I still couldn't get anything to happen when I picked up and read the Necronomicon.
Can somebody please mention the name of some other FM that uses GayleSaver's scripts right at the very beginning? I want to see if playing T2X perhaps knocked out all ability of my installation to run the scripts, or just when used in this FM.
If it did, then I suppose I'll have to go through the tedious process of finding my disk, reinstalling T2, reinstalling the patch (assuming I can find the patch), restalling the you-know-what so I don't have to relocate my disk every time I want to play the game, and finally reloading this mission via Darkloader. But if it's just this mission, I don't think I will. Too much work!
