Um, oh dear , would it be possible for you to edit the level so that there is no apparition and no voice file, just the usual old frob-the-book-and-read-it and you get a new set of objectives?
I actually originally considered publishing a stripped down version of the mission, but then thought it'd be quite redundant.
All the different elements (scripted sequences, rocking chairs, banging shutters, playing pianos, etc.) contribute to the low framerate in some way, no doubt. Which parts should I cut? Someone wanted a mission with the basement door left unlocked, another complained about the rocking chair. Should I release separate versions for everyone?
The whole point of the mission was to provide a translation of the film into a fan mission.
If someone were to edit the mission, so they could finish it, they're free to do so, though.

Thiefmissions has a new version up, with a slightly modified .mis and .gam file. It may run faster. It might not. It might be even buggier! Who knows? I don't.

Is everyone that are having framerate problems certain that it isn't related to having installed T2X on their computers? I installed Thief 2 and Darkloader on my other PC so it wouldn't interfere with T2X, and it ran fine there.

Towards the end though my frame rate got really bad but I was able to finish OK.
My framerate is extremely low. I'm getting about 1 frame every second or two while in any part of the cabin. :wot:

The framerate is a mystery wrapped in an enigma. :sly:

At least I didn't have to go into combat. I finished ok. :)

Did you install the latest bug-fix scripts as mentioned in the edited first post? That fixed the frame rate problem for me. However, old saves that had the frame rate problem already continued to have the problem. Once corruption occurs, it will not go away. To start using the bug-fix scripts successfully, I had to reload a save at a time before things started going bad. Then it worked. If you have a save prior to entering the cabin for the first time, that should do it if my theory is right. Or start the mission over -- no big deal. If that does not work for you, or is not the issue, then please post back.

I installed T2X and finished playing it, but I did not deinstall it. FM's then worked fine when loaded through darkloader.

I have an older PC (Win98 / 800 Mhz) that I play Thief and Thief 2 FMs on, since the newer systems don't like the dark engine. I play T2X on there. When I installed RIGHT UP THERE, I got the framerate issue - I assumed it was T2X related, so I installed T2 and Darkloader on my newer computer WITHOUT T2X installed, and the FM ran fine (granted, it could also be the faster computer - but, RIGHT UP THERE is the only FM to date that I've EVER had a framerate issue with).
