Can't find the dagger. Am assuming that once found maybe the doors to the house may open again?

After you've gotten the Necronomicon, some stuff happens. Look in the bathroom.
If you're still stuck, you either need GayleSaver's scripts (
http://www.thief-thecircle.com/dromed/tools.asp) (here) or a working version of gen.osm.

I had terrible lag towards the end, but the mission was creepy and exciting. It has lots of great atmosphere and a good story. Is there going to be a sequel? The end seemed like sort of a cliffhanger.

I am getting about 1-5 fps, I am guessing, depending on what I am doing. This is after completing all objectives other than loot on Expert and getting out. It has been a gradual deterioriation that started occurring after the aforementioned scripted event. It is unplayable now, and I cannot finish it. I have a fast computer with a GeForce 6800 GT and Athlon 64 3400+. This computer runs all large Thief missions just fine, and it tests fine on benchmarks. I can run several copies of Thief 2 at once and it does not behave like this.
This has got to be a bug of some kind, not just a peculiarity of Thief as you assume. Interestingly, when I killed the beast in the basement, it got much better momentarily, but then it got really bad again fairly quickly. Perhaps that can give you a clue.
I am guessing that it has something to do with a trigger associated with an object that is getting set / reset in a loop, or something like that. The mission is just too small to have ordinary framerate problems. It cannot be textures of the architecture because it is fine at the beginning. Unless it is a funny texture of something that appears later....
Apart from this problem, I want to contratulate you on the clever use of objects and your decoration. Very well done. Very creepy in places. I hope you can fix it. I'll give it another go then.
EDIT: I have the latest versions of gaylesaver's scripts.

Okay,
I got the shotgun and the lamp in the store. How do I use them? All I can do right now is throw them or drop them. :p

YES!
Can't wait to play it! I'll download it tomorrow! :thumb:
Yay! :D

The lantern works like the flares in Thief 2. As for the shotgun, how the hell could you afford it? It's basically just a joke, you're not supposed to be able to use it (although it'd be cool if you could).

It's probably the gen.osm that came with your version of Thief 2, unless you already downloaded the updated archive. I'll e-mail you a gen.osm that should work.

I am aware of the problem. I do believe the problem lies in the mission itself, but sometimes it doesn't manifest in any discernable way.
I tried to get rid of it in the beta stage by setting triggers to only trigger once and destroy themselves once no longer necesary.
In some cases it improved performance, but more often it had no perceivable effect.
I am at a loss here. :erg:

A new archive with a functional version of gen.osm is now up on Thiefmissions.
I'll download this. Originally, frame rates were OK until I got into the cabin. Then they varied so much and so often, that :thumb: I felt sick and had to stop. Will give it another go.
