Trout, same with me: I just downloaded the fixed version about a half-hour ago (time now, 5/28/05 11:25pm PDT). I heard the scream in the woods; I saw the eyes and heard the mumbling as I walked up to the cabin, and Garrett said something like "what the hell was that." But when I pick up the Necronomicon and even read it, nothing seems to happen. Certainly there is no key.
Can somebody tell me which version of gen.osm I'm supposed to have and how I can tell if I have it? And what I can do if I don't have it?
I tried restarting; this time I heard a double scream... but other than that, it was the same: picked up the Nec, nothing happened. Not even what happened to Epithumia.
I'm looking at gen.osm now. My version is 419 KB (429,568 bytes), and it says it was modified Monday, March 27, 2000, 2:02:24 PM. Is this the right one? Is there a more recent, better one? Where can I find it?
Thanks,
Dafydd

Hint:
if you jump up and down through the house, a clang will mark the spot.Spoiler:
go into the living room, and look down. You should see a door which has a padlock next to it. Use the key on the padlock, et voila! :thumb:

Actually, just something I remember from the beta version . . .
you know the desk in the front room, which has a bookcase just above it? There used to be loot in that bookcase; and as far as I can tell, one of the loot items is still there, you just can't frob it anymore. I came up with the same loot total as you, so . . . :erm: not much help, but just thought I'd mention it.
I have the same problem with the loot. Before I quit, I had 545, and those items mentioned above were not frobbable. I could not jump up there to see if the were just too far away. I tried to stack crates to get up there, and I could not do it with the low frame rates.
So, unless someone playing on expert has found the loot, then this may be a bug too.

I got your e-mail with the new gen.osm and still when I find the bedroom book nothing happens.
Note that you have to restart the mission in order for the scripts to work.

well considering the extremely bad frame rates, I actually enjoyed the mission, thank goodness it wasnt as creepy as deceptive perception, but still creepy enough to get yer heart going a bit

Sounds like a glitch with Gaylesaver's scripts. You need the new bugfixed ones. If you already do, I don't know. Does it happen every time?
