All right, I've loaded up the most recent gen.osm, the most recent GayleSaver script, the most recent version of this mission, and restarted the mission from scratch -- and I still get nothing when I pick up the Necronomicon and read it. I get the screams in the woods, I see the eyeballs in front of the cabin, the rocking chair rocks, the clock ticks, but nuttin' but nuttin' with the stupid book.
I'm out of ideas.
Unless somebody has something brilliant to suggest, I'm out of this mission as well -- not by choice! I love the architecture and the storyline seems interesting (what little I saw of it), but....
Well, it won't play.

Sounds like a glitch with Gaylesaver's scripts. You need the new bugfixed ones. If you already do, I don't know. Does it happen every time?
Thanks for the clue, Troutpack. I have just installed Gaylesaver's bug-fixed scripts, file name UsrScriptT2_1x2BugFix.zip. I said in my last post that I had them. That was only partly true. I downloaded them, but I had forgotten to install them. So now, with the BugFix scripts installed, I can frob the last two loot items for 100% loot. Also, I went back to where the frame rate was decent, and played to the end, and the frame rate never went bad. So maybe people who have this problem all have an older version of the scripts. I guess they may not know what is the "latest" version. I could depend on where you find them.
Now I have one final problem, I think. With the new scripts installed and starting half way into the mission as I did, I cannot get out of the house. Previously, the back door opened. Now it is unfrobbable. Which way is it supposed to be?
I can see a possible exit
at the broken window where the two treebeasts are, but I cannot go out there because (I think) the tree beasts are blocking the way, and I cannot get them to move.
Perhaps I need to start at the beginnng so everything will be consistent. Please let me know if you think that is the case, and I'll try it.
As for the rocking chair theory, that did not work for me. I stopped the rocking chair with the old scripts installed while the frame rate was so poor, and stopping the chair made no difference in the frame rate. With the new scripts installed, the frame rates seem OK, so again it made no difference. My computer is pretty fast, so there still could be a difference for some people with slower computers -- who knows?

This is how I got out.
I used the pages of the book. After waiting for the tree beasts to move which they didn't, I went back to the living room where the door to the basement is. The door was open.
I think I know what the source of the bad FPS is - the rocking chair.
I have discovered that if I walk right up to it so it stops rocking, the frame rate shoots back up to normal but as soon as I walk away and it starts rocking again, the frame rate drops to an almost unplayable level.
Quite possible. Doesn't seem to do that with everyone. And I suppose the banging window shutters outside should cause even more lag, since there's more of them and they're activated more frequently.

Sorry to hear that. :( I don't know what the problem could be.

Bwahahaha!
The end of mission is great.
BTW: I had opened all doors after finding all three pages. And horrible framerate, too.
Mission is great ;) :D hehe, nice work, pity for the bugs.

Strange, I have all the objectives done except the ones with the loot (only 395, searched everywhere) and getting out. I also don't have the medallion. Script went well, what's going on? Am I missing any objects in the mission?

Here's a loot list (although I can't remember loot values right now, or the type of loot for that matter :erg: ) :
-Shelf behind rocking chair (vase and statue)
-Two (2) desk drawers (coins)
-Cabinet above desk (statue and bust)
-Box on shelf near sofa (coins?)
-Cabinet drawer in kitchen (spice)
-Stand in bedroom (Pearl necklace)
-On top of piano (coins)
-Shelf opposite piano (vase?)
-On floor near piano (Champagne bottle)
Medallion locations (vary randomly)
-On floor near piano
-On floor near fireplace
-On table in cellar
I think that's all. :erg:

I originally played the level for a while (congrats on a great FM Troutpack) :thumb: - but now when I go back to it through Darkloader
(even after reverting back to original T2 missions and restarting laptop) I get the error from Darkloader:
Quote:
You have 11M of free disk space. Thief 2 requires 35M. Thief 2 cannot run.
But, I can run everything else
(even T2X with all it's custom objects, textures, and wavs and Calendra's and ect) through Darkloader. I also took out the Miss file and gam and opened Dromed and it loaded up fine
(without the custom stuff) through it....any idears what might be going on?
Oh & just FYI, here's me specs: IBM T40 thinkpad/1.5 centrino/512 ram (with over 300M showing free)/ATI Mobility 7500 w/32 megs....

Destroy some of your old saves from the allsaves-folder. If that doesn't work, then do as TNT says.
