Cool. Maybe Piranha Bytes will be able to buy back the Gothic franchise in a fire sale or something, considering that JoWooD are reportedly close to death's door.
JoWooD won't be missed. They're like a German poor man's Activision, with their milking of franchises into the ground.

I liked Risen vey much and certainly look forward to some adventuring across islands. I hope they change a few things, especially the interface/map, animations and how they tend to handle women or even romance in their scripts but apart from that I'm ready to get owned by a pack of wolves - again. Or dare I dream of not starting as a total looser for once ?

They're called "artwork" on the site, it's pretty much a developer acknowledgement that these are bullshots.
I don't see how anything on these screens are out of the ordinary though, risen ran on a visually fully capable engine.

Nothing out of the ordinary, really. Those look like in-engine target renders and I'm fine with them.
The amount of antialiasing, detailed foliage and textures however exclude those being console shots, which was what Koki was hinting at.

Great as the Gothic/Risen games are, after playing through the same Piranha Bytes formula for grand adventures template four times now, I wouldn't mind seeing them change things up a bit.
edit: (
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3018396/Risen2.jpg) Picture of the pirated out Nameless Hero from Risen plus some monsters from the sea. More hair, less angst, a cutlass, the Ocular of the Inquisition, and a MOTHERFUCKING MUSKET! HOORRAARRR! I WILL SHOOT SHIT WITH MY GUN!
Also Piranha Bytes is motion capturing actors for the animations instead of doing it all by hand this go round.

I don't want to spam the thread, just to keep it alive. So I want to ask, is there a period of time after which the threads are close on TTLG?
EvaUnit02 on 12/3/2011 at 20:03
No, there's no rule nor expiry date. But if you're going to revive a thread, just make sure that your post has some actual content.
