Hmmm, let's see if they can actually deliver a properly QA'ed game this time, with good optimisation.
Quote:
Risen will make its international debut on October 02, 2009. The new RPG from the inventors of Gothic, Piranha Bytes, has already entered the Beta phase and is now being honed to perfection. Risen will be available for PC and Xbox 360®, the video game and entertainment system from Microsoft®.
"The release date for Risen enables us to introduce the game to the market in the best possible condition," says Daniel Oberlerchner, Brand Manager at Deep Silver. "We have been in the Beta phase here for several weeks, and now our focus lies on eliminating the remaining bugs."
The contents of Risen are already complete, and all dialogs have been recorded. A total of three quality assurance teams are working on the game - one directly at Piranha Bytes, one at Deep Silver, plus an additional external studio.
Word of advice:- Don't buy Deep Silver published games over Steam, they're absolutely rubbish at rolling out patches on time.
If they can actually provide even the most basic aftermarket support for their product this time around. Disagreements with publishers or not, you should support your product regardless, otherwise you will lose face with your customers.

Yeah, hopefully it's properly Questioned & Answered.

Really, you post nothing of value, all you do is troll.
I can't believe a decent fellow like Gunsmoke would've ever associated with a worthless example of humanity like you.

Go soak on a cork.
As for Risen, it will be overshadowed by other major RPG releases like Dragon Age and Alpha Protocol. At least with those games I get something worthwhile to play.

Yeah. Dragon Age. I'm not one to pass on a game because it uses the same generic fantasy setting as about ten thousand other games. It's not what it's about, rather how it's about it about it and all that. But DA looks so dialed in and generic, I can't muster up even the tiniest bit of enthusiasm for the game.
As for Risen, it looks pretty damn good so far. I don't care if it'll be overshadowed by the bigger titles out there. If it's even half as good as Gothic 2, I won't give half a crap if everyone else is playing Dragon Age or whatever. I'll be having fun right where I'm at.

What kind of idiot judges/completely writes off an unreleased game without even playing it?
Don't count your chickens before they've hatched. Dragon Age and Alpha Protocol are such sure bets, eh? You mean a game from a developer known for recycling the same plot structure for
every RPG that they've made since 2000, with (
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2008/08/26/morality-tales-bioware-versus-the-issues/) sloppily written moral dilemma centred quests; and a studio who have
never properly finished a game in time for release?
So shut the fuck up until the games have actually BEEN RELEASED and there's at least some professional reviews floating around, before even opening your mouth on the subject of a game's worth.

End of this year is going to be pretty hot: Risen, Call of Pripyat, RE5.

I take a recycled story over some bugfest a'la Gothic 3 anytime of the week. While Bioware is hardly known for doing something risky or creative, at least I know I get a playable and enjoyable game. And Alpha Protocol sounds even better.
Risen, however, well.... It's from the Gothic 3 dudes. If that isn't scaring you, then you're either stupid or have bad taste.

Oh, you mean a bugfest like Mass Effect? A game that still has loads of issues and bugs ranging in the entire gambit of severity to
this very day.

Stop writing bullshit already. This really gets embarrassing for you. Mass Effect and buggy...what a joke. And now run along and play some Gothic.
