Who teaches Seal skills? I've got a ton of Runes but I can't find anyone who'll teach me how to use them, only scribe them. Freeze is fun and all, but I'm getting tired of leaving locked chests behind because I can't use my Unlock Rune. I don't want to spend any points on lockpicking skills as they'll be wasted once I can use that Rune.

runes only in the vulcan-castle. depending on who you aligned yourself it could be locked for you. I only got runes-teaching when I got my letter of recommendation AND applied as a mage. it's part of the education for mages there. so if you are aligned to the don or "just" an low warrior for the whites, forget it and sell them. I learned runes but never invested anything in it. got so much money, I just bought the scrolls (and you find a ton on your journeys).
about mendoza: FRED IS YOUR FRIEND, he gets distracted the whole time by him and you can just slash his back, the rest is armor shield spell and constant blocking and sidejumping (got him the first time, just don't put distance between you and him and he will kill you with a fireball in one hit). yeah, and the endboss, once I knew his moves (died 3 times) I took no damage and had him down in 4 strokes
i got all lockpicking skills and still ended up with about 10 unlock spells for free (which I only used when I had to break in and leave quickly)
in the last 2 chapters I had so much money, I just bought every scroll 10 times and went to town with my skeleton army

Mendoza was easy for my bow-wielder. With level 10 archery, 200 dexterity (plus extra points from items) and a bow that did 70 per hit, he went down in 4-5 shots.
Ending was a bit abrupt though, wasn't it?
They could really have done with some sort of summary a la the original Fallout games.

well, it was a cliffhanger and I thought there was nothing to say anymore, at least nothing about the nameless hero and the island. about the storms and rest of the planet....maybe Risen2 - Curse of the black island ?

Awesome game :D
Finished the game today for the Don path, maxed all professions and thief skills before i even got 30 strength, however the stuff you can make sorta makes up for it.
Kinda messed up with the potions since i used around 5-6 of them before i reached 100 from training(should have remembered that from G2), but i ended the game at 150 strength and 90ish dexterity and the last chapter was a breeze anyway, just 2-3 hits to kill most enemies.
Found it really hard to give up using a shield, just didn't like how slow the 2 handers where, though when you get swordskill up you can use them 1 handed so good thing i didn't sell them all of :D
Btw, did anyone find a use for the
old coin? I didn't explore that much in the last chapter, have to start another run as a mage i think.

You can still make scrolls with them without being a mage, though you hardly need to.

I tried the demo and rather liked it, but does it turn into the usual stereotypical fantasy crap? I'm getting really sick of games where you just run around killing monsters to save the world from some evil.
I really enjoyed G2, and have played it several times, but don't want a rehash of the same gameplay. Don't get me wrong, I loved it, but this game seems almost exactly the same gameplay wise.

Nope, nor the
plain rock I'm guessing they're part of the Mage's quests as I've finished the game as a Bandit and almost done as part of the Inquisition and I've seen no use for them.
Brilliant game, just a couple of mis-matched text/speech problems. Worst I encountered was in Chapter 3 when
The Inquisitor told me to fetch Enrico when I was supposed to get Vince. I spent bloody ages looking for Enrico...:edit:
mgeorge: gameplay-wise it's pretty much the same as the first two Gothic games, if you're tired of that then probably best to give it a miss.

Ok, i'm about to die from frustration after being stuck for hours, and really need a little hint.
I'm on the quest whre i need to find Ursegor's 5 armor pieces, and i currently have these 4 items:
Hammer of the Titan Lord
Shield of the Titan Lord
Armour piece consisting of: Breastplate
Armour piece consisting of: Brassards and greaves
But i miss the last one. I havent been inside of where the Northeastern Red Dot is on the questmap, as i have nooo clue on where i need to enter. Been trying to find the entrance for 3-4 hours now, and i'm so frustrated.
Can someone please, please, please tell me in a fairly simple way where the 5th entrance is? (The one on the pic)

northeast vulcan cave: teleport there (or walk, levitate, whatever), enter the first big hall, there is only one entrance ahead into another hall, there you have 2 options: keep on the right to get the shield, or on your left to get the helmet which you seem to miss. there you get to some lava area with an ashmonster on top infront of a locked stone door (or you already killed it before). if you go there but then descend some stonepillar down to the lava you can see the door across from you behind the lava. levitate over there (don't get burned) and open the seal. or jump from high onto a rock in the lava and then across although it's tricky.

That one you pointed at has only one marked entrance but leads to two different ones. At the start theres some sort of natural stone bridges over lava with scorpion enemies near. If you go north-ish you reach a huge cave with lotsa ore spots and one entrance to a "sub-dungeon", farther up theres an exit to a waterfall with lotsa ogres around. In the previous cave with the lava you can shoot a winch to make a lil bridge come down to get over to a chest and a locked door. The entrance to the other "sub" dungeon is below that, ya gotta jump down abit earler and hover over the lava
Hope i remembered shit right and that helps :erm:
EDIT : Lol beaten XD
