That line's from The Wizard of Oz.
I liked the robots in DX, but it would have been cool to see more of them. The concept art in the PC Gamer article shows that they're going for a more frightening look in DX2.

Was it just me or did the spider bots piss you off in the game everytime i heard them, i was like shit I hate these things and I wouldn't have anything handy to kill them with. Even lams were hard to use on them. I finally just started using 20mmHE on the assault rifle but that was still dangerous. DX2 needs to have a good weapon for those types of bots.
I liked the rest of the robots though they'd appear at unexpected times and would really throw a lot of challenge into the game, (The Airport comes to mind). If DX2 accomplishes that aspect it will truely be a great game.

I developed a healthy fear of those horrible little spider bots. You should have seen my reaction when I saw the really big spider bot for the first time...

Those spiders reminded me of the mechanical spiders from the old Tom Selleck movie Runaway.

I would like to be able to blow away parts of a bot (legs, gun, sensors, etc.) to affect it's capabilities...
PowerCrazy on 18/7/2001 at 23:38
Yeah that would be a good idea in DX2, shoting different parts of the robots would affect them differently. Esp. the spider bots. They just look too fragile. I think that a shotgun would do A lot more damage then the game portrayed. And on the big Spider Bots. I think it would be cool to use your sniper rifle to take out some of its legs just to watch it jump around and whatnot. or you could turn it into a immobile harmless piece of wreckage, With just 10 shots from the ol' sniper rifle. or i guess just one from the gep gun... oh well it would still be fun.

level IV spy drone augumentation...no fear of ANY bot then. Sweeeet <IMG SRC="thumb.gif" border="0">

Yeah, I like the spy drone technique too. I know the drone sucks crazy amounts of power, but there are plenty of places where a Repairbot is not far away and you can go top off as soon as you're finished using the drone. It's a risk-free and silent way of taking out bots and it also affords you some reconnaisance while you do it.
