It pains me considerably to say this, but man...I am not impressed. That art style they have going on is godawful. Not at all charming like the original.
Maybe the gameplay will make up for the lack of artistic flair. Who knows. For right now though, I'm suspicious.

I take back everything I said above. I just got through playing the demo on Steam, and it's...it's...oh so very grand. An absolute kick in the pants, made by people who knew exactly what made Rocket Knight Adventures so fun. Everything that was good there, is easily just as good here.

This is pretty significantly easy for like, half the game. Then suddenly you get a RUDE fucking awakening.
I'm having a lot of fun with it though, but the final boss made me ragequit. I'll go back to it in a bit.

Are you playing it on hard? I breezed through the demo on easy, but hard actually made me have to work a bit. It threw a ton of added dynamite lobbing, circular saw tossing, bamboo-zooka toting wolves my way, and made Axel Gear go from a complete pushover to a damn good fight.

No, I'm playing on normal. I had trouble, specifically, in 3 areas- several parts of the lab, the lab blowing up, and now the final boss. All in the latter half of the game.
