This Corporal has finally removed most of the damage done by Afghanistan and is able to actually speak the word 'Marine' again. Today is the anniversary of the day I walked into the Island to begin boot camp. I was just wondering if any of you have served, and in what capacity.
Was it peacetime, or did you go get sand in your socks like me? That's not fair, maybe you are old enough to have had to endure the polar opposite of my desert Hell and went to Asia to fight in that godforsaken jungle my father did. Either way, did any of you serve? If so, what capacity? Country/branch/locations deployed to? Any stories that have become declassified that you can talk about?
I have found over the last few weeks that it is extremely healing for me to actually talk about this stuff instead of avoid it and bury it deep. That's basically my reasoning for this thread. If you'd rather do it privately, just P.M. me. I get it, believe me. I am a good listener.

Don't blame you for keeping it quiet....but I will agree, talking about it can do good. What province were you in? Helmand I'm guessing?
